Lessons from good habits

After making efforts to build a reading culture, I believe more and more that books are necessary teachers and friends for each individual on the journey of self-development.

It is an undeniable fact that many young people are willing to spend hours glued to their phone screens watching short videos with countless content appearing continuously, especially after stressful working hours. However, aimlessly surfing the internet is just a temporary form of entertainment. Recently, when reading books regularly, I realized: the problem is not that young people lack time to read, but the core is whether they have enough motivation or not.

I still use social media to connect with the community but I don't get carried away. It feels so nice to sit every evening with a cup of hot tea, the rain is pouring outside and I have "The Thorn Birds" in my hand. In addition to classic works, I also read works by domestic authors. Each genre of books has its own characteristics and benefits for readers.

Returning to the pages of a book is a peaceful feeling, as if we meet an old lover. Books cannot completely fill the void in a broken heart, but they help us name our emotions, have a calmer, more tolerant view of ourselves and others. Thanks to books, people gain more knowledge, more perspectives to act appropriately and reasonably, and train their analytical mind. Books do not help us get rich or realize our dreams immediately, but they bring many useful lessons.

During my previous trips abroad, the image that was deeply imprinted in my mind was that people could read anywhere: bus stops, parks, subways, etc. Libraries in European countries, the US, Japan, etc. are always full of readers. In recent years, the domestic book market has flourished. Many forms such as audiobooks and e-books have appeared alongside paper books. Hopefully, the reading rate will increase as a result.

In a fast-paced world where technology and social networks reign supreme, reading still retains its practical value, nurturing human intelligence and soul.
