From September 21 to September 24, a widespread heavy rain occurred in Thanh Hoa, causing damage to agricultural production, aquaculture and people's lives.

More than 394 hectares of traditional aquaculture and 525m3 of cages were damaged by floods.

Cage fish farming area in Ai Thuong commune (Ba Thuoc) was affected by heavy rain.

According to statistics from the agricultural sector, the whole province has more than 394 hectares of traditional fish ponds flooded, with damage in Thuong Xuan district: 1.31 hectares, Quan Hoa: 0.7 hectares, Ba Thuoc: 9.03 hectares, Thach Thanh: 66.05 hectares, Thieu Hoa: 43.5 hectares, Yen Dinh: 23.8 hectares, Hoang Hoa: 250 hectares and 525m3 of cages and rafts in Thuong Xuan and Ba Thuoc districts were swept away.

Localities are directing farmers and mobilizing mass organizations to carry out a general environmental cleaning of farming areas, reinforce embankments, and drainage canal systems; pull nets to check and remove unwanted fish and estimate the remaining fish. At the same time, carry out cleaning and disinfection of the pond environment, aiming to release additional fish fry into ponds and cages to ensure adequate density and fish stocking structure.
