According to the report of the Ninh Binh Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, the total rainfall in many areas in the area exceeded 200 mm within 48 hours. The heavy rainfall caused flooding and landslides in many places, causing severe damage to the agricultural sector. A quick report from the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment said: More than 34,000 hectares of rice were affected, of which nearly 8,000 hectares were completely submerged and over 17,000 hectares were submerged up to 2/3 of the tree trunks... In addition, 200 hectares of vegetables were also affected. Regarding aquaculture, 33 hectares of shrimp ponds in Giao Ninh and Rang Dong communes were recorded to have overflowed.
It is known that before and during the storm, the Department of Agriculture and Environment issued many directives and assigned forces to be on duty 24/7 to respond. Interdisciplinary inspection teams were established to review key areas and urge the work of preventing and overcoming the consequences of the storm. Irrigation companies also proactively operated pumping stations to drain water.
Currently, the Department of Agriculture and Environment is actively coordinating with relevant agencies to continue monitoring the storm's developments, focusing on overcoming the consequences and preparing plans to prevent pests and diseases that may break out after floods.
