- On the morning of July 2, in Luong Van Tri ward, Lang Son province, a working delegation from the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion (XT DT, TM & DL) of Lang Son province, Vietnam, led by Mr. Hoang Xuan Thuan , Director of the Center, held talks with a delegation from Bang Tuong town. Guangxi, China, led by Mr. Phan Quoc Uy, Head of the Propaganda Department of Bang Tuong town, is leading the delegation to prepare for the work related to organizing the China - Vietnam Border Tourism Festival in 2025. Attending the program were leaders of a number of departments and branches of the province.

At the meeting, the delegation from Pingxiang, Guangxi, China introduced the main contents of the China-Vietnam Border Tourism Festival 2025. Accordingly, the festival is expected to be held in Pingxiang, Guangxi, China from August 23 to 28. This is an annual festival held since 1992 to promote cultural and tourism exchange activities between Vietnam and China.

This year's festival has 9 contents including: opening ceremony; 2025 China-Vietnam border art festival; 2025 China-Vietnam Tourism Image Ambassador selection contest; 1st ASEAN magic show exchange; 2025 folk art exchange; series of cultural and sports activities in response; "Silk Road" e-commerce seminar; China-ASEAN Import-Export Goods Trade Fair; organization of self-driving cars across the China-Vietnam border and China-Vietnam friendly football tournament.

Through the discussion, the two sides agreed on a number of contents: the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VHTT&DL) and the Center for Investment Promotion, Trade and Tourism of Lang Son province (Vietnam) are the units supporting and coordinating the organization of the festival; relevant agencies and units promote the propaganda and promotion of the festival; relevant focal units proactively organize a delegation of Lang Son enterprises to participate in the China - ASEAN Import-Export Trade Fair in 2025 and a delegation of Lang Son (Vietnam) to participate in activities at the festival...

In addition, the delegation of Bang Tuong, Guangxi, China also requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lang Son to select 6 performances to participate in the China-Vietnam border art festival; support the organization of self-driving cars across the China-Vietnam border; select athletes to participate in the China-Vietnam Friendly Football Tournament and select candidates to participate in the contest to select China-Vietnam Tourism Image Ambassadors in 2025...

Also in the program, the leaders of the Center for Trade and Tourism Promotion made a number of proposals such as: Changing the name of the contest "Selection of China - Vietnam (Pingxiang) Tourism Image Ambassador in 2025" to "Selection of Vietnam - China (Pingxiang) Border Tourism Ambassador in 2025"; increasing the number of booths and delegates participating in promoting Vietnam's agricultural products and tourism potential at the China - ASEAN Import-Export Trade Fair; proposing to extend the stay with a passport for members of the Vietnamese delegation when participating in some activities in the festival.

After the working program, the two sides will continue to coordinate with relevant agencies and units to advise and propose competent authorities to effectively implement the above contents in the coming time.

The talks are one of the activities to concretize the agreements and cooperation documents between the leaders of Lang Son province and the leaders of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China on further strengthening exchanges and cooperation in many fields, including promoting cross-border cultural, sports and tourism cooperation.
