On the morning of June 11, a delegation of the Vientiane Capital Veterans Association, Lao PDR, led by Major General Phanom Linthoong, visited, exchanged and worked with the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association. Major General Nguyen Minh Hoang, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association, hosted the reception.

Speaking at the reception, Major General Nguyen Minh Hoang, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association, gave an overview of the achievements in economic and social construction and development of Ho Chi Minh City in recent times.

Speaking at the meeting, Major General Phanom Linthoong expressed his joy and appreciation for the thoughtful reception of the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association for the delegation. He emphasized that the Party, Government and the Lao Veterans Association always remember the generation of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and officers who stood shoulder to shoulder with the Lao army and people, sacrificing their blood and bones to fight against foreign invaders and regain independence and freedom for the Lao people.

"Vietnam and Laos, our two countries, are both comrades and brothers." The Vientiane Capital Veterans Association will encourage members to continue to preserve and foster the tradition of special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos and learn valuable and practical experiences from the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association; at the same time, apply them appropriately in the work of building the association and helping each other to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty.
