- Infrastructure breakthrough - Aspiration to reach high
- Ca Mau calls for investment in industrial infrastructure and energy export in Singapore
- Urgently upgrade commune-level telecommunications infrastructure
Many key projects have been completed, along with projects that are being accelerated recently, creating a picture of the province's traffic infrastructure that is increasingly complete with many important connecting axes. From there, the road traffic system is more seamless, creating a foundation and driving force to promote comprehensive and sustainable socio-economic development.
With a length of more than 770 m, the completion of Ganh Hao bridge not only satisfies the wishes of the people on both sides of Ganh Hao estuary, but also brings joy to the people and authorities of Ca Mau - Bac Lieu provinces. Sharing about this, Mr. Nguyen Van Den (Luu Hoa Thanh hamlet, Tan Thuan commune, Dam Doi district) could not hide his emotions: "Most of the trading activities of the people here are concentrated in Dong Hai district, Bac Lieu province. However, over the past few decades, trading activities have encountered many obstacles due to having to cross the ferry. Therefore, having a bridge across Ganh Hao river is a long-standing dream of the people, and now it has come true".
Previously, people at the Song Doc estuary (Tran Van Thoi district) were extremely excited when the two banks here were connected by the Ong Doc River bridge. In addition, the smooth East-West asphalt axis, about 67 km long, crossing National Highway 1, along with many connecting routes, has created a continuous traffic axis from the West Sea (Song Doc) to the East Sea (Ganh Hao).
Ong Doc River Bridge, Ganh Hao Bridge, and the East-West Highway have created a traffic belt connecting the East Sea to the West Sea. This is an important “catalyst” to connect and promote socio-economic development, especially the marine economy - a potential that still has much room to create breakthroughs for neighboring areas.
Ong Doc River Bridge is a key traffic project, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of Song Doc coastal city in particular and the province in general.
Previously (when the East-West axis did not exist), goods of the people of Song Doc town were mostly transported via the Tac Thu - Song Doc traffic route. Although this route has been invested in upgrading the road surface, there is a bridge on the route with a permitted load of only 8 tons, which has significantly affected the goods transportation activities of people and businesses. The East-West route put into use has removed this bottleneck, creating favorable conditions for production and business activities, especially in the transportation of goods of more than 2,000 enterprises, business establishments, and thousands of offshore fishing vessels in and outside the province. As calculated by Mr. Dang Loi, Director of Dang Loi LLC (Hamlet 11, Song Doc town): "Since the East-West axis was built, the company can save 40-60 million VND per month in freight costs. Not only money, but more importantly, it shortens the transportation time, helping production and business to be more effective."
Along the East-West route, new residential areas have been formed, many production and business establishments are gradually springing up, forming a new economic development corridor.
Along with the East-West axis, in recent times, on the routes: National Highway 1, Phung Hiep Highway, National Highway 63..., many projects and works to renovate and upgrade traffic infrastructure have been invested by the province, have been put into use or are about to be completed, which will create a continuous connection. Typical examples include the construction, expansion and renovation of Ca Mau City - Dam Doi road; expansion and renovation of Vam Dinh - Cai Doi Vam road; construction, expansion and renovation of U Minh - Khanh Hoi road...
Not only that, people are now eagerly waiting to enjoy the benefits that many projects worth thousands of billions of VND expected to be implemented this year will bring. In particular, the Ca Mau - Dat Mui expressway connecting with the Hon Khoai general seaport cluster in the near future will be a pillar for the development of the marine economy, contributing to exploiting all potentials and strengths, helping the (new) Ca Mau province to accelerate development. More recently, people are now expecting the expressway connecting Can Tho City to Ca Mau, this project is being accelerated to be completed by the end of 2025 as planned.
The expressway connecting Ca Mau to Can Tho City, the section in the province, is being accelerated to complete on schedule.
Regarding the efforts to develop local transport infrastructure, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lam Van Bi repeatedly emphasized that the province identifies transport infrastructure as an important foundation to not only promote socio-economic development but also ensure national defense and security. Therefore, the province pays special attention to directing and promptly removing difficulties arising during the implementation process to speed up progress and ensure the quality of projects, especially key works and projects.
The increasingly improved transport infrastructure not only helps businesses and people develop the economy, but also serves as a foundation for the province to attract investment, open up new development space, and create a strong breakthrough to achieve the growth target of 8% or more in 2025, aiming for double-digit growth in the next period./.
