Royal poinciana, Black horse lily, Singing with the cicada, both familiar and strange
In the familiar cathedral of art, Vietnam's summer masterpieces resound. Not many times have I had the chance to listen to Entering Summer, Singing with the Little Cicada, Pink Phoenix, White Summer, Homeland Flute , and Ly Ngua O with a different look like this.
Through the instrumental arrangement, the familiar melody of "Voi ha" , a song associated with the band Phuong Hoang, lures the audience into a summer filled with light, freedom, excitement, peace and love for life.
There is nothing more suitable than the work of musician Le Huu Ha to open this July concert.
Phoenix and Singing with the little cicada combine symphonic music for the first time, through the performances of Tan Minh and Khanh Linh, respectively, bringing a different feeling.
Especially Phuong Hong , the symphonic music pushes the narrative, nostalgic and lyrical qualities of the song to a new dimension. Listening to Tan Minh sing the song when it is not pop, it is still pleasant, full of nostalgia for a summer that will never return.

The audience also met again the late musician Trinh Cong Son's White Summer with its illusory but colorful dream of summer, arranged for symphony orchestra.
In the half-century-old instrumental piece "The sound of the flute of the homeland" with its melodious memories and Vietnamese folk music by musician Van Chung, Le Thu Huong's flute stands out as the clearest, most brilliant, and most lively solo.
But the two most interesting songs of the summer evening are Ly ngua o , a song with strong folk nuances, and Ky uoc mua he , a new composition by musician Trong Dai.

In Lý ngưa ô , the arrangement for string orchestra in the style of Tokyo Sinfonia, combining traditional Vietnamese music and Western classical composition techniques, brings many nuances from lyrical, passionate to vibrant, powerful. Modern harmony techniques, flexible modulation and sound effects simulating horse hooves, bells... create a space full of musicality and color.
Meanwhile, Summer Memories contains many worries, thoughts, and contemplations of Trong Dai. When listening, the audience can live through many different waves of emotions.

The world 's summer masterpiece resounds at Hanoi Opera House
Besides the flavors of Vietnam, the 2025 Summer Concert also brings the audience into a different artistic space with classic Western works.
It is a summer under the scorching sun, the weary farmer rests under the trees, listening to the birds, the unseasonal winds and then the storm in Summer , the second concerto in the Four Seasons suite by Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi.
Audiences also had the opportunity to listen to Felix Mendelssohn's opening theme for Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream . Witty, humorous. You could hear the mischievous footsteps of half-real, half-dreamy mythical creatures in Shakespeare's bustling night forest.

Not as tragic or dramatic as many of Beethoven's other works, Symphony No. 6 - also known as the Pastoral Symphony - is a profound meditation on nature, a musical excursion in the peaceful countryside of early 19th-century Germany.
If Johann Strauss's polka, Tritsch-Tratsch Polka, is more than 160 years old and full of life and vitality, his Im Krapfenwald'l, Op. 336 is a waltz that encapsulates the light-hearted and poetic spirit of 19th-century Austria.

Richard Wagner's Prelude is another burst of energy, lasting just a few minutes but requiring precise technique and collective strength from the entire orchestra.
The evening concluded with a lively traditional southern French folk dance performed to an excerpt from Georges Bizet's L'Arlésienne . The music opens with a strong, marching rhythm, but quickly builds to a jubilant energy, with alternating and creatively layered themes.
