Drama about the "third force" in the South during the war against America
The third person was directed by People's Artist Le Hung from a script by Nguyen Minh Anh. This time, veteran director Le Hung exploited many elements of modern theater to create such as a large LED screen, helping viewers visualize the urban landscape of old Saigon.
The atmosphere of Saigon before 1975 with the struggles of students, intellectuals, artists in Saigon, the "third forces" are also vividly recreated through music , with familiar songs of that period in the Southern urban areas such as Song for the corpses by Trinh Cong Son, and Love story of the ferryman at Ben Ha by Hoang Thi Tho...

The story is about a female Saigon commando soldier operating under the cover of a famous singer Bach Yen Thang Tu (real name is Nhu Quynh - played by actress Dao Thi Thanh Mai) who often sang for the Republic of Vietnam soldiers in the Vien Chinh band.
Because of the mission assigned to her, she put aside her family feud and approached Hoang Quan Bao - a major of the Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces, an officer of the General Staff (played by Nguyen Ngoc Duong), who commanded the raid that killed her mother - a commando soldier.
She agreed to marry Hoang Quan Bao, who was madly in love with her, in order to find a way to get the battle plan he was the author of.
When Major Hoang Quan Bao discovered his wife's true identity and met his mother, a member of the Senate of the Republic of Vietnam, a defender of the voice of Saigon intellectuals and artists, who had turned to the Communists, he chose to go to America, leaving his wife with a battle plan.
Decades later, he returned to find his wife and children, a reunion that, although late, had the meaning of removing the lingering emotional wounds in his and Nhu Quynh's hearts.
Trinh Cong Son, Hoang Thi Tho in The Third Person
If cinema already has the classic film Saigon Special Forces about the special forces operating secretly in the heart of Saigon during the years of fighting against the US, now the stage has an additional play about these soldiers and also expands the audience to those belonging to the "third force" that literature and art have not talked about for a long time.
The fact that the People's Police Drama Theater chose to make a play about the theme of the "third force" in the South before 1975 moved viewers with the desire for reconciliation for the Vietnamese people.

Music is cleverly used in the play to soften a work on the theme of war.
Ignoring the parts where the director has not cut hard enough to form the most concise play, the play conquers the audience in the story told as well as the way it is told.
Choosing a unique voice to perform the songs that Bach Yen Thang Tu sings also contributes to increasing the emotions for the audience.
