7 leading medical specialists in Ho Chi Minh City are ready to rotate to Con Dao

With the motto "No one is left behind, even in the farthest places", the Ho Chi Minh City health sector is ready to send good doctors from leading hospitals to work in Con Dao special zone.

On August 26, Associate Professor, Dr. Tang Chi Thuong - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health - said that a team of doctors from the city's health sector, including 7 different specialists, will participate in the first rotation to work in the Con Dao special zone.

They are good, highly skilled doctors from the city's leading hospitals including: Binh Dan, Nhan Dan Gia Dinh, Hung Vuong, Nhi Dong 1, Trauma and Orthopedics and Nguyen Tri Phuong.

As planned, on the morning of August 27, the Department of Health will hold a launching ceremony and on September 3, the doctors will depart to work at the Con Dao Military-Civilian Medical Center.

Associate Professor, Dr. Tang Chi Thuong added that this action demonstrates the consistent viewpoint of the Ho Chi Minh City health sector: "No one is left behind, even in the farthest places."

The program is not only a professional action, but also a strong message about the service spirit of the city's health sector after the merger: "Ho Chi Minh City's health sector not only expands geographically but also spreads its sense of responsibility to the most remote areas such as Con Dao."

"The program received strong response and spread from medical staff throughout the industry, especially general and specialized hospitals.

With this activity, despite the remote location of Con Dao, local people and tourists will have access to professional and quality medical services. This is a practical action demonstrating the orientation of comprehensive and equitable development in the field of health care," Associate Professor Thuong emphasized.

In addition to the long-term and continuous rotation of specialist doctors, the city's health sector also implements short-term medical examination and treatment sessions at specialized hospitals in the city such as: eye, maxillofacial, ear, nose and throat... The first session also took place in September 2025, providing dental care for students, undertaken by the Central Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology in Ho Chi Minh City.

Another important activity ordered by the Department of Health leaders for the rotating doctors is to provide training to update professional knowledge and transfer techniques to medical staff of the Con Dao Military-Civilian Medical Center. Strengthen connections and remote consultation with experts from end-line hospitals when encountering complex cases.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health highly appreciates and respectfully acknowledges the enthusiastic response of the leaders of general and specialized hospitals and the spirit of volunteering to take turns working in Con Dao of the doctors participating in the first phase.

Currently, the list of doctors registered to rotate to Con Dao special zone at the Department of Health is enough to last until the end of 2026.
