On the evening of June 8, at Nguyen Du Stadium, Vietnam International Fashion Week Spring Summer 2025 closed with the collection Ma dao by designer Vu Viet Ha.
Ma dao recreates a vivid picture of the Bac Ha highland market - where culture, people and traditional materials blend together, creating a unique identity in the world fashion flow.
Designer Vu Viet Ha said the inspiration for the collection came from the moments he saw the costume of a Dao Dau Bang girl at Bac Ha market.
The name of the collection Ma dao has many meanings. The main material used to create the collection is brocade woven by ethnic minorities.
Each stage of fabric creation is done by hand, from weaving, dyeing, hand-sewing… to the buttons being molded by hand. The 40 designs in Ma Dao brought many emotions to the viewers.
The audience feels like they are on a trip to the Northwest through the unique designs combined with music with unique mountain and forest sounds.
Runner-up Quynh Anh appeared attractive in an outfit that showed her personality and bravery.
Miss Le Hoang Phuong's charisma on the catwalk
Runner-up Quynh Anh opened the show in an outfit with hand-pleated layers that simulated the curves of the Northwest mountains. Tassels along the body created a graceful movement effect when walking the catwalk.
Miss Le Hoang Phuong took on the role of closing the show. Her outfit showed the beauty of the intersection between tradition and contemporary language. What caught the attention was the traditional hat of the Dao Dau Bang people, made from real hair, with a rectangular block attached to the top.
