In early July, many households in the province reported that their electricity bills for June 2025 "increased dramatically" compared to the previous month, even though their habits of using electrical equipment remained almost unchanged.
Vinh Long Electricity Company has checked the management area and found no cases of sudden increase in electricity bills.
According to the Southern Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather during this time is at its peak (from 32 to 340 C). The continuous high temperature in June causes people to use more cooling devices such as air conditioners, electric fans, refrigerators... both day and night, leading to a sharp increase in electricity consumption.
June is also the time when students are on summer vacation, most of them stay at home all day, so the frequency of electricity usage in households increases significantly, from the use of air conditioners, entertainment devices (TV, computer, internet), to other household electrical appliances.

In addition, the average electricity price has been adjusted up from May 10, 2025, so the June bill is calculated entirely according to the new price - this is also a factor contributing to the higher bill compared to the previous month.
