PSG beat Real Madrid 4-0
"It doesn't feel good, but we will try to learn from today," coach Xabi Alonso told DAZN after Real Madrid's 0-4 defeat to PSG in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-final at MetLife Stadium (USA) in the early morning of July 10.

The defeat means Real Madrid will have to wait for a trophy again, after finishing second in La Liga and also losing out in the Copa del Rey. Xabi Alonso, who took over from Carlo Ancelotti ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, insisted that brighter days are ahead.
"PSG is a team that has been built for two years by coach Luis Enrique. I have only just taken over, so it will take time, but we will have to learn from today. The current feeling is not the best.
"We need a real break now. This is not the beginning of next year, this is just the end of the season. After only three weeks here, I think we can take the positives from this period, and then learn from today," said coach Alonso.

PSG have now won their last five knockout games in all competitions by an aggregate score of 18-0. They were 3-0 up after just 24 minutes, with Fabian Ruiz and Ousmane Dembele scoring early on.
This is the first time Madrid have conceded three goals in the first 24 minutes of a match since November 2003 (against Sevilla in La Liga).
PSG have now won 48 games in all competitions since the start of the 2024-25 season, surpassing the club's previous record of 47, set in the 2015-16 season.
Asked how high Luis Enrique's side had set themselves, Alonso replied: "We are not the last team they will face. Since February, PSG have been at their peak, we have faced one of the best teams in the world .
Let's see what happens in the final, we want to reach their level. I think PSG have played together for many years and played at the highest level. For sure, they are an example for us to look at and improve our game."
