At noon on June 9, the press conference before the Malaysia - Vietnam match in the second round of Group F of the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup took place in Kuala Lumpur. This match will take place at 8pm tomorrow (June 10) at Bukit Jalil Stadium with a capacity of 85,500 spectators.

Speaking at a press conference, coach Peter Cklamovski said: "Malaysia has an important match tomorrow with the Vietnamese team. We have prepared very carefully and want to make the whole country proud.

I am satisfied with the efforts and dedication of the players and assistants. There are many speculations and rumors from social media about our naturalized player. But it does not affect the important match tomorrow. I am happy that the players are ready to do what I want."

Regarding the mentality of the naturalized players in the face of the above information, the Australian coach said there was no problem. "We have good preparation. Some new players have joined the team. They come from many different places, returning here with pride as citizens of Malaysia.

We feel the family atmosphere here. We will show that unity tomorrow. The Malaysian team will not let outside opinions distract us. That gossip is only for outsiders to care about."

Coach Peter Cklamovski affirmed that the Malaysian team has prepared very well for the match with Vietnam with 3 training sessions to screen, add players, improve physical strength and perfect tactics.

"My goal is to help Malaysia become a world-class team. There are still many steps to take, but I am very happy with the initial results. The team's performance has improved, with a 1-1 draw with Cape Verde on May 29, and a 0-3 loss to Cape Verde in a closed match on June 3. There are five new players who have joined the team, but have connected well with the team. They have trained well, are in good shape and are ready to play well tomorrow," he said.

When asked about the pressure to beat Vietnam after 10 years of draws and losses, coach Peter Cklamovski responded very decisively. He said: "We want to win every match. It's been 10 years since Malaysia has beaten Vietnam. But instead of being afraid, we see it as a challenge. I want them to grasp it and create history tomorrow."

For his part, Australian-Malaysian midfielder Matthew Davis admitted that the Malaysian National Championship ending earlier than the V-League was disadvantageous in terms of maintaining the pace of play, but he and the whole team still maintained a positive spirit.

Regarding the changes in the Vietnamese team's squad due to injuries, Matthew Davis showed no concern and focused only on his team. "I'm not too concerned about the personnel changes on the Vietnamese side. We focus on our own playing style rather than our opponents. If a player is not on the field, someone else will replace him," he said.
