Radio system - Accurate and timely information channel

In the era of information technology explosion, modern media platforms such as social networks, electronic newspapers or digital applications increasingly dominate life. However, in many localities in Long An province, especially in remote, isolated and border areas, the grassroots radio system still plays a role as an official, close, reliable and durable information channel.

"Voice" of the border region

Tan Hung is a border district bordering the Kingdom of Cambodia, with low-lying terrain, often affected by floods, and people's lives face many difficulties. In that context, the district's DTT is the channel that helps people access information, policies, development orientations and knowledge for practical application. Tan Hung district's DTT was established on August 1, 1995. In the early stages, the station's facilities were rudimentary, with temporary offices made of cajuput trees and leaf walls, and the staff had almost no journalism expertise. However, with enthusiasm and the spirit of overcoming difficulties, the staff of the station gradually built, developed and affirmed its role as the main media agency in the locality.

Tan Hung District Cultural, Information and Broadcasting Center constantly improves expertise and professionalism for its staff.

The station has been gradually improved, invested in equipment, improved the quality of news and articles and achieved many outstanding achievements. For nearly 10 consecutive years, Tan Hung District Radio and Television has been in the top 3 of Dong Thap Muoi Emulation Cluster. Since 2018, after merging into the District Center for Culture, Information and Broadcasting (TTVHTT&TT), the station has continued to maintain its top position in Emulation Cluster No. 1. Currently, although there are only 5 staff members, thanks to solidarity and love for the job, the staff of the station maintain a regular radio news broadcast every day, with an afternoon news program and a rebroadcast the next morning. From the beginning of 2025, the station has completely switched to digital radio, preparing to officially turn off FM waves on July 1, 2025.

In 2024, the station produced 367 local news programs with more than 2,250 news items, 405 short stories, 366 village stories and hundreds of special topics and programs. The station also organized 2 live radio programs of district People's Council meetings and carried out many special programs during the Lunar New Year.

Nguyen Van Sach, an official of the Tan Hung District Radio and Television Station, shared: “When I first came to the district station, I faced a lot of pressure, but thanks to the encouragement and help of the leaders and colleagues, I gradually got into the rhythm of the work and have been working there until now. Although technology has developed, people here still wait for the loudspeaker every day because the information is easy to understand, close and practical.”

Director of the Tan Hung District Information and Communications Center - Nguyen Thi Anh Xuan said: "Although the number of reporters is small, thanks to being well-trained, having youthful energy and a sense of responsibility, they are always proactive in following reality, reflecting issues that people are interested in, many news articles are broadcast on radio and television channels of Long An Newspaper and Radio and Television Station".

In the flow of modern media, radio still has its own place. Continuing to maintain, invest in and develop this system is the way to ensure that everyone has the right to access information, wherever they are.

I listen to it every day while cooking or cleaning, very convenient".

Deputy Director of Ben Luc District Information and Communications Center - Nguyen Van Khoi said: “Digital transformation is an inevitable trend but it does not mean ignoring digital transformation. We are gradually improving the qualifications of our staff and investing in modern equipment to do a good job of communication at the grassroots level. Especially promoting the strengths of the Station in providing fast, accurate and suitable information to people in each hamlet and neighborhood”.

Today's broadcasting system has made many advances in technology application, flexible program production, diverse content and increasingly modern equipment. However, the most important thing is the sense of responsibility, dedication and love for the profession of the broadcasting staff, who are not afraid of difficulties and hardships to bring the voice of the Party and the government to each person and vice versa.

In the modern media flow, digital media still has its own place. Continuing to maintain, invest in and develop this system is the way to ensure that everyone has the right to access information, no matter where they are./.
