The event was organized by the Center for E-commerce and Digital Technology Development (eComDX) - Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) in coordination with the Department of Industry and Trade of Hau Giang province, within the framework of the National E-commerce Development Program by 2025.

At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Huu Ai - Deputy Director of Hau Giang Department of Industry and Trade frankly admitted that the locality is still facing many difficulties in implementing e-commerce: "We lack human resources who understand technology, many small traders are still hesitant, small businesses and individual business households do not clearly understand the legal regulations when going on e-commerce platforms".

Mr. Nguyen Huu Ai - Deputy Director of Hau Giang Department of Industry and Trade.

The training course is practical in providing an overview of e-commerce, tax policies in online business, and introducing how to apply artificial intelligence (AI) to product management and marketing.

Sharing many important contents about the legal framework of e-commerce, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuan - Director of eComDX emphasized that correctly understanding the digital business model is a prerequisite for complying with the law.

“A person who creates a website to sell products will be directly responsible for the products; while the operator of e-commerce platforms such as Shopee or TikTok Shop only provides a platform for many sellers,” Mr. Tuan gave an example.

The director of eComDX also noted that businesses should not take lightly the procedure of notifying e-commerce websites to the Ministry of Industry and Trade . Registering on online.gov.vn is not only a legal requirement but also helps confirm legality and create trust with customers.

Many managers and businesses participated in the training.

Regarding tax policy, Mr. Tuan warned that the authorities are tightening e-commerce tax management. Enterprises need to proactively declare VAT, income tax, and invoices correctly to avoid legal risks.

The conference also helps students identify common violations, inspection and examination procedures in the field of e-commerce and how to coordinate with the inspection team. Sales models via social networks, livestream, and even at home are also specifically analyzed with many practical examples.

Another highlight of the conference was the topic of applying artificial intelligence to online business presented by expert Cao Qui Long (eComDX). Mr. Long emphasized: “AI today is no longer a luxury, but a tool to help small businesses save costs, improve management and marketing efficiency.”

In the class, students are guided through the steps of implementing AI in sales activities on e-commerce platforms and social networks. From creating marketing content, product descriptions, image design, to analyzing customer behavior - all can be done easily through free or low-cost AI tools.

The program also guides students on how to bring local specialties to Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop. Many people have created their own booths, written content and posted products for sale without going through an intermediary.

With a close combination of theory - practice - technology, the training program in Hau Giang has equipped the management team, enterprises and business households with updated knowledge, easy-to-apply tools and encouraged a mindset of being ready to act.

“Digital transformation is no longer a slogan but has become a mandatory development path. Understanding correctly – being able to do it – doing it immediately, that is the goal we are aiming for,” Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuan affirmed.
