This year’s Workers’ Month has the theme “Vietnamese Workers Pioneering the New Era”. This is not only a slogan, but also a guideline for action, a strong call to millions of workers who are persistently working day and night to build the Capital and the country.
According to the City Labor Federation, 100% of enterprise-level trade unions organize at least one activity for workers. In particular, many city-level activities and those of trade unions directly above the grassroots level are organized on a large scale, with investment, and are aimed at the grassroots level. Notable among these are activities to promote propaganda andeducation on national traditions, traditions of the working class and Vietnam Trade Unions, the 2024 Capital Law, the Labor Law, and the Social Insurance Law.
The trade union has also focused on caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers and employees through coordinating inspections, checks, and supervision of the implementation of labor laws and policies for workers, especially policies on social insurance and health insurance.
The city organized a conference to meet and dialogue between the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee and delegates who are workers, business leaders and Chairmen of grassroots trade unions in industrial parks and export processing zones. At the conference, there were more than 500 opinions and recommendations in writing and 16 opinions and recommendations on life, employment, housing, policy implementation for workers... Through the conference, the city leaders received and directed the timely resolution of recommendations and proposals from workers. This activity helps promote the role of monitoring, social criticism, and participation in contributing ideas to building a strong Party and government of the Trade Union organization.
During Workers' Month, more than 2,200 workers in difficult circumstances were supported; thousands of health check-ups and cancer screenings were organized for free; 25 Union shelters were newly built or repaired, and a series of welfare activities such as: "Workers' Market", "Health Care Day", "Thanking Workers"... took place enthusiastically, practically, and meaningfully. ... These are not just numbers, but the hearts, the sharing, the care of the Capital's Trade Unions at all levels for workers.
The Union coordinates to organize “Workers’ Markets”, “Discount Sales Week for Workers”, “Workers’ Cultural and Sports Festival”, “Health Care Festival”, the movement “Ensured Benefits, Better Welfare for Union Members and Workers” and “Each Grassroots Union, One Union Member Benefit”; organizes travel and vacation programs for workers; continues to sign and implement activities with welfare partners to bring benefits to Union Members and Workers.
On this occasion, outstanding collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in emulation movements during Workers' Month were commended and rewarded.
