Pi cryptocurrency investors angry, calling for app deletion

Người Lao ĐộngNgười Lao Động03/07/2024

On the morning of July 3, many accounts in Pi virtual currency investment groups on social networks such as "Pi Network World " with 234,000 members, "PI NETWORK VIET NAM" with 89,000 members, "Pi Network vn" with 47,800 members... simultaneously posted articles calling for deleting the application and stopping playing after the Pi Network team continued to promise, not knowing when this currency will be officially traded.

"Delete the app, just promise to be good. Don't know when the Mainnet will be deployed?" - MM account wrote in a Pi group with more than 150,000 members.

In the comment section, an account named LA expressed his anger: "If we don't delete the app now, what's the point? Other projects have been listed on the exchange for ages, but this one pops up every now and then to sow hope. In reality, they're just trying to trick people rather than trying to complete the project."

Similarly, QL account wrote: "Too frustrated, deleting the app is the right thing to do, no debate. Now many people are burning money while Pi Core is clearly making excuses to delay."

However, many other users still share optimism and continue to support the project wholeheartedly. CP account wrote: "Deleting the Pi app or not does not affect anyone. Pi is a long-term project. If you lose faith, do not post on Facebook. The mainnet will open soon, anyone who sells later will regret it."

Previously, prnewswire reported On June 28 , Pi Network announced plans to move to the "Open Mainnet" phase, allowing users to trade other cryptocurrencies by 2024.

However, this needs to meet the following conditions: 15 million Pi users have verified their identity (KYC); 10 million people switch to Mainnet; 100 Pi applications are running on Mainnet or ready for Mainnet; there are no adverse external factors...

The Pi player community reacted and said that Pi Network is deliberately delaying and will not be able to determine the time to deploy the open Mainnet, or even not do it when some conditions are general and very vague.

Nicolas Kokkalis, founder and Chief Technology Officer of Pi Network, said that over the past few months, the team has been continuously testing and optimizing the technology, making many modifications to create new updates to help transition to Mainnet faster, KYC and other blockchain components.

"These updates will support upcoming projects such as KYC extension, second and subsequent forks, Mainnet and blockchain... towards Pi Network opening in 2024" - the founder promised.

To date, Pi Network has over 60 million participants globally and over 12 million KYC accounts (up from 9.45 million in March).

According to financial experts, cryptocurrencies or digital currencies like Pi are not yet legal means of payment under the law. Therefore, investors will bear all risks when investing in the above currency and similar products because they are not protected by law.

"Users need to be vigilant before participating in investment activities, capital mobilization, calling, soliciting and trading activities of cryptocurrencies" - experts recommend.

Regarding Pi, at a press conference in June 2023, Major General Le Xuan Minh, Deputy Director of the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (A05), said that he had coordinated with local police to investigate investment calling activities in this digital currency.
