“New wind” for Ham Rong cultural tourism

And the birth of the tourism product "WOW Ham Rong" is expected to not only evoke sacred memories, but also become a vivid experiential space, where visitors can touch the heritage through emotional experiential programs.

“New wind” for Ham Rong cultural tourism

In the historical and cultural flow of Thanh Hoa, Ham Rong Historical - Cultural Relic Area (Ham Rong Ward) is a symbol of resilient vitality, a place where the heroic memories of the nation are preserved and is also a land that converges many cultural, historical and unique landscape values. From the fiery years of the war to protect Ham Rong Bridge to the present, this land still has a strong attraction and possesses a fascinating natural landscape. To "awaken" that potential, Ham Rong Historical - Cultural Relic Area has been on a journey of innovation and development, connecting with destinations in the region to clarify historical values, turn cultural experiences into attractive tourism products, touching the emotions of tourists before the trend of experiencing destination culture; and the "WOW Ham Rong" tourism product set built by Ham Rong Tourism Club was put into operation in early 2025.

This is not simply the name of a tourism product but also contains a creative, suggestive message, aiming at the surprise, admiration, and interesting surprise of tourists. The product set includes 4 tour programs: Ham Rong past and present; Ham Rong - Up and down the Ma River; Ham Rong Night - Heritage Bridge; Ham Rong past and present stories. The chain of tourism products is built on the foundation of Ham Rong's cultural heritage and natural landscape, harmoniously combining traditional and modern elements. Instead of just visiting relics and listening to simple explanations, visitors to Ham Rong will be immersed in cultural experience programs, art spaces, modern entertainment... All are designed to create a "Wow" feeling from the first time of approach, true to the spirit of the name.

According to Ms. Nguyen Ha Phuong (Ham Rong Tourism Club), the product line “WOW Ham Rong” is a synthesis of many layers of values, from history, culture to landscape and contemporary life. Ms. Phuong emphasized: “We not only want tourists to remember Ham Rong as a legendary relic of the war, but also want them to see here a lively, creative tourist space, where history is recreated through experiences, where visitors can touch, hear, see, and experience new emotions. This is the way for Ham Rong to both maintain its identity and keep up with tourism trends in the new situation.”

In fact, Ham Rong has long been known for its great historical values, but the tourism exploitation direction has not really made a breakthrough. Tourists often come here to take a few pictures, listen to the introduction, and then leave without much motivation to stay longer or return. The product set "WOW Ham Rong" was born to overcome that limitation. For example, the Ham Rong tour past and present will connect tourists to the following locations: Ham Rong Bridge - Tien Son Cave - Dong Son Pagoda - Dong Son Ancient Village - Xu Thanh Eco Village - La Monte tourist village. In addition to sightseeing and exploring destinations, tourists will participate in experiencing the cultural space and enjoying fresh bird's nest at Xu Thanh Eco Village, along with a number of activities such as: workshops, playing golf, making cakes, folk games... The most important thing is to preserve the soul of Ham Rong Historical and Cultural Relic Site, so that each “wow” experience does not just stop at surprise but also leaves an echo in the hearts of visitors.
