Mr. Ha Ngoc Kien, Deputy General Director of Viet Tri Urban Environment and Services Joint Stock Company, said that during the peak of Tet holiday, the amount of garbage doubled compared to normal days, about 400 tons/day. The company mobilized a total of 341 sanitation workers to work continuously, through New Year's Eve to process the garbage. The staff determined that this was their duty, so everyone arranged their family work to be able to complete the job with peace of mind.

Ms. Pham Thi Tuyet Mai has been in the profession for exactly 20 years. She said that in the past, the amount of garbage was not much, so there were years when she could celebrate New Year's Eve at home. However, in recent years, the amount of garbage has increased, so all the employees of the company have to work through Tet. "We have to finish the garbage so that the city can be clean tomorrow before we can go home."

Large amounts of trash are collected continuously at entertainment areas, however, environmental workers still have to wait a long time to be able to clean up completely in these areas because there are still shops that are still open even though it is 1am.
