World oil prices
At 6:00 a.m. on December 10, Brent oil price increased by 1.02 USD (equivalent to 1.4%) to 72.14 USD/barrel. WTI oil price increased by 1.17 USD (equivalent to 1.7%) to 68.37 USD/barrel.
On December 8, the Syrian opposition announced that it had taken control of Damascus and ended the regime of President Bashar al-Assad. This raised concerns about further instability in the Middle East. In addition, Israel has conducted lightning airstrikes in Syria to consolidate control of key strategic locations and neutralize any remaining military infrastructure linked to the former Syrian regime so that it does not fall into the hands of the Syrian rebels.
Although Syria is not a major oil producer, it has geopolitical influence due to its geographical location and relations with Russia and Iran.

There were early signs of disruption in the oil market, Reuters reported, with an Iranian tanker bound for Syria having to turn back in the Red Sea.
Meanwhile, Xinhua reported that China will focus on expanding domestic demand and boosting consumption.
Domestic gasoline prices
In the operating period on December 5, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline increased by 24 VND/liter, not higher than 19,864 VND/liter. The price of RON95 gasoline decreased by 294 VND/liter, not higher than 20,563 VND/liter.
Meanwhile, diesel price decreased by 395 VND/liter, not higher than 18,382 VND/liter. Kerosene price decreased by 325 VND/liter, not higher than 18,817 VND/liter. Fuel oil price remained at 16,125 VND/kg as in the previous period.
In this period, the regulatory agency continues not to set aside or use the gasoline price stabilization fund for all products.
