Speaking at the meeting, Major General Phung Thi Phu emphasized that over the years, military recruitment has always maintained quality, stability and achieved the set goals; sincerely thanked the attention and close coordination of news agencies and newspapers inside and outside the Army in propaganda and career guidance for military recruitment, contributing to orienting candidates in the preliminary selection, attracting more and more candidates to register for admission to military academies and schools.

In 2024, military academies and schools completed military recruitment work well, achieving the set goals.

According to information at the press conference, in 2025, there will be 17 military academies and officer schools recruiting more than 4,200 students to train university-level officers; there will be 4 officer schools and colleges recruiting students to train technical professionals, while the Air Force Officer School will recruit students at both university and college levels. There will be 4 academies recruiting female candidates, including: Military Technical Academy, Military Medical Academy, Military Science Academy, and Logistics Academy.

Military schools implement 3 admission methods: Direct admission, priority admission according to the university admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, regulations of the Ministry of National Defense ; admission based on the results of the capacity assessment exam organized by Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City National University; admission based on the results of the high school graduation exam. Candidates can register to participate in all admission methods.

Schools shall conduct direct admission for candidates according to the provisions of Article 8 of the University Admissions Regulations; give priority to candidates who have won national and international prizes but have not used their direct admission rights, and candidates who have won consolation prizes in national competitions for excellent students, and candidates who have won fourth prizes in national science and technology competitions.

Candidates register for admission based on the results of the competency assessment exam and submit the application for converting foreign language scores and application for adding incentive points to the school and submit the preliminary application according to the instructions of the school receiving the preliminary application. Register for admission based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

In case a candidate does not register for admission with the first choice at the school that submitted the preliminary application, if he/she transfers his/her admission application to another Military school according to regulations, he/she does not have to transfer the application documents submitted at the school that submitted the preliminary application to the school that registered for admission; the candidate will still be considered for all registration methods and will have his/her points converted, and will receive bonus points and priority points (if any) at the school that registered for admission.

Candidates who have submitted their preliminary application to a Military School, if they wish, can still adjust their application to another Military School in the same group of schools. Group 1 includes the following Academies: Logistics, Navy, Border Guard, Air Defense-Air Force (Command and Staff system) and Officer Schools: Army 1, Army 2, Politics, Special Forces, Artillery, Armored, Chemical, Information, and Engineering.

Group 2 includes the following Academies: Military Engineering, Military Medicine, Military Science, Air Defense - Air Force (Aviation Engineering). For college training, candidates can adjust their admission wishes between the following schools: Air Force Officer, College of Cryptography Engineering, College of Information Engineering and College of National Defense Industry.
