Over the years, the Fatherland Front Committee of Thanh Cong Commune (Pho Yen City) has constantly innovated its content and methods of operation, promoting its core role in building the great national unity bloc, especially in social security work in the locality.

In the period of 2021-2025, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thanh Cong commune (Pho Yen city) supported the construction and repair of 34 houses for poor and near-poor households, with a total cost of over 1.5 billion VND.

Thanh Cong Commune currently has more than 4,300 households, with over 18,200 people, of which ethnic minorities account for 34%. The majority of people in the commune are farmers (85%), the rest are small-scale service businesses and farm and ranch livestock.

Identifying social security for people as one of the important criteria, the Commune Fatherland Front Committee has actively advised the Party Committee, coordinated with the government and member organizations to effectively implement many activities to help the poor and disadvantaged.

Focusing on propaganda and mobilization to build the "For the Poor" Fund; reviewing and synthesizing difficult circumstances to connect and support the construction of solidarity houses, giving away livelihoods, supporting access to production techniques...

In the period of 2021-2025, the Commune Fatherland Front Committee mobilized nearly 500 million VND to support the "For the Poor" Fund, the "Repaying Gratitude" Fund and other local funds; supported the construction and repair of 34 houses for poor and near-poor households, with a total cost of over 1.5 billion VND.

Every year, the Commune Fatherland Front Committee also mobilizes thousands of gifts (total value of 200-300 million VND) to give to 100% of poor and near-poor households, policy families and meritorious people on holidays and Tet.

With the support of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Pho Yen City, Thanh Cong Commune and the joint efforts of individuals and groups, the family of Mr. Pham Sy Nguyen, a poor household in Tom 2 Hamlet, Thanh Cong Commune, has built a new, spacious house.

Mr. Pham Sy Nguyen, in Tom 2 hamlet, excitedly said: In April 2025, with the support of 50 million VND from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Pho Yen City, Thanh Cong Commune, and the help of kind-hearted individuals, groups, and neighbors in the hamlet, I was able to build a solid level 4 house. This is a great source of encouragement and sharing, helping my family to rise up.

To help poor and near-poor households develop their family economy , member organizations of the Thanh Cong Commune Fatherland Front Committee also coordinated with the Social Policy Bank to create conditions for 1,796 disadvantaged households to access preferential loans for economic development, with a total outstanding loan of over 127 billion VND; at the same time, supporting poor and near-poor households with plants, seeds, and production materials.

From these sources of support, households have actively transformed the structure of crops and livestock, effectively maintaining integrated economic models such as: Nam Minh Cooperative Group, in Thuong Vu 2 hamlet; Van Phu Tea Cooperative; single-variety rice fields in hamlets: Thuong Vu 1, An Hoa, An Mien... Thanks to that, up to now, the rate of poor households in the whole commune has decreased to 3.65%, near-poor households to 4.7%.

Implementing the campaign "All people unite to build new countryside and civilized urban areas", the Fatherland Front Committee of Thanh Cong commune and its member organizations also launched many practical movements: Farmers' Association with the movement "Farmers compete in production and good business"; Women's Association with the model "5 no, 3 clean"; Youth Union deploys the movement "Accompanying young people to start a business"...

Through movements and campaigns, over 300 households in the commune have voluntarily donated over 20,000m2 of land; contributed over 10,000 working days and over 50 billion VND to build and expand roads, cultural houses... Every year, the percentage of families achieving the title of Cultural Family accounts for 96%, 27/27 hamlets maintain the title of Cultural Residential Area...

Ms. Vu Thi Lan, Chairwoman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Thanh Cong Commune, shared: With the synchronous and flexible participation of the Fatherland Front Committee and member organizations, social security work in the commune has really spread strongly, arousing the spirit of self-reliance and self-reliance among the people.
