Coffee price forecast for tomorrow, March 15, 2025, sideways trend, slight increase.
According to experts, world coffee prices as well as domestic coffee prices in Vietnam have continuously increased since the beginning of the year and set new records due to concerns about tightening global supply.
Accordingly, as of mid-March 2025, coffee prices in the Central Highlands fluctuated at 132,500 - 133,500 VND/kg, an increase of 11% (12,280 - 13,200 VND/kg) compared to the end of last year. Previously, the transaction price had reached a historical high of 135,000 VND/kg on March 5, surpassing the peak of 134,200 VND/kg reached in April last year.
In the global market, Arabica coffee – the bean commonly used in most roasted coffees – has increased by 70% in 2024 and more than 20% this year, reaching a record high of $4.30/pound on February 11.
Robusta - the second most popular bean, often used in instant coffee, has increased by 72% in 2024 and reached a historical peak of $5,847/ton on February 12.
According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), after a decline at the end of 2024, Vietnam's coffee export prices increased sharply again in the first months of 2025 due to limited supply.
According to the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (VICOFA), the sharp increase in coffee prices is mainly due to the Arabica coffee variety, due to a 16% decrease in Brazil's output. Brazil's Robusta harvest is coming soon, followed by Arabica a few months later.
With the current export growth rate, it is forecasted that in 2025, Vietnam's coffee exports could reach over 6 billion USD.
Vice President of the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association Thai Nhu Hiep said that in the long term, the coffee market is still very good because currently the erratic drought in producing countries is threatening. The harvest in producing countries such as Brazil and Indonesia in May also affects the price of Vietnamese coffee. However, many Chinese buyers are also participating in the Vietnamese Robusta market quite strongly.
