(PLVN) - According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting (NCHMF), from around June 23, thunderstorms in the North will gradually decrease.

The Hydrometeorological Agency forecasts that in the evening and night of June 22, the provinces of Hoa Binh, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Vinh Phuc, Bac Giang , Bac Ninh, and Hanoi will have moderate rain, heavy rain, and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing very heavy rain with rainfall ranging from 20-50mm, and some places experiencing over 150mm. Warning of the risk of localized heavy rain (>100mm/3 hours).

During the day and night of June 22, other places in the North and Thanh Hoa will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing heavy rain with rainfall of over 50mm.

In the afternoon and evening of June 22, the Central Highlands and the South will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall ranging from 10-30mm, and some places experiencing over 60mm.

"Thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Heavy rain may cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban and industrial areas; flash floods on small rivers and streams; and landslides on steep slopes," the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warned.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting also stated that from June 23, heavy rain in the Northern region will tend to decrease gradually.

Regarding the situation at sea, the National Hydro-Meteorological Agency said that the eastern sea area of ​​the Central East Sea, the northern sea area of ​​the Southern East Sea (including the Truong Sa archipelago), the sea area from Ca Mau to Kien Giang and the Gulf of Thailand are experiencing showers and thunderstorms.

Forecast for the day and night of June 22, the sea area south of the Central East Sea, the sea area north of the South East Sea (including the sea area of ​​Truong Sa archipelago), the sea area from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to Kien Giang and the Gulf of Thailand will have showers and thunderstorms. During the thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, strong gusts of wind level 6-7 and waves over 2.0m high.

In addition, on June 22, the northern Gulf of Tonkin will have strong southerly winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7; rough seas.

All vessels operating in the above areas are at risk of being affected by tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.
