On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025); the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People's Public Security Forces (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025), on the morning of August 18, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong visited and congratulated the Hanoi City Public Security and veteran revolutionary cadres.
Accompanying him were Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Pham Qui Tien; representatives of the Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee, the Propaganda and Education Commission of the City Party Committee, the City Party Committee Office and a number of city departments, branches and sectors.
Reporting on the situation and results of some areas of work of the City Police to the Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Quyen, Deputy Director of the City Police, said that inheriting the heroic tradition of generations of City Police, implementing the direction of the Central Public Security Party Committee, the City Party Committee, the People's Council, and the People's Committee of Hanoi, the Capital Police with a new spirit, always united, unanimous, excellently completed the tasks assigned by the Party, State and people.
In particular, since the beginning of the year, the City Police have ensured absolute safety for more than 2,000 events; taken the lead in streamlining the apparatus, gradually stabilizing, assigning the right people to the right jobs, and making officers and soldiers feel secure in their work.
On behalf of the city's leaders, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong congratulated the Hanoi City Police on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2; and the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People's Police Force.
Praising the results achieved in recent times, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee emphasized that the City Police have excellently completed their tasks in all aspects of work.
Comrade Nguyen Van Phong said that the capital Hanoi is the national political and administrative nerve center, a major center of culture, science, education, economy and international transactions. Over the past 80 years, the capital has always ensured the absolute leadership of the Party, with very strong development, especially in the 40 years of renovation. That result is inherited from the thousand-year-old tradition of culture and heroism of Thang Long - Hanoi; historical tradition, valuable lessons from the successful August Revolution.
“Over the past 80 years, the development of the capital Hanoi has had a very important contribution from the People's Public Security force. You comrades have always been the core, the support of the Party Committee, the government and the people of the capital. With a population of about 10 million people and a very rapid urbanization rate, many issues regarding security and order have been raised, but the city has always ensured political security, social order and safety and has not been passive or surprised in any situation. The capital has always maintained peace and absolute safety,” emphasized comrade Nguyen Van Phong.
The Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee also assessed that the City Police is the core force implementing Project 06, creating an important premise for the city to effectively implement digital transformation. In particular, ensuring political stability and security, social order and safety has contributed to improving Hanoi's investment environment; creating an image of the Capital that is both ancient and dynamic, safe and friendly to domestic and international friends, thereby contributing to tourism development.
“Promoting the glorious tradition of the heroic Capital Police force, the City Police will continue to make worthy contributions in the new development period, for the Capital to become increasingly cultured, civilized, modern and the people to be truly happy,” Comrade Nguyen Van Phong expressed his confidence.
* On the same morning, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong visited and congratulated Mr. Nguyen Tien Ha, a veteran revolutionary cadre (currently living in Hoang Luong apartment building, 185 Huynh Thuc Khang street); visited Mr. Le Duc Van, a veteran revolutionary cadre (currently receiving health care at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Hospital).
Speaking at the places he visited, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong respectfully congratulated veteran revolutionary cadres on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2; at the same time, he expressed deep gratitude for the contributions of veteran cadres to the capital and the country.
Kindly visiting and wishing the veteran revolutionary cadres good health and longevity, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong hopes that, with their experience and intelligence, they will continue to care for, encourage and support the Party Committee and the Hanoi City government in the cause of building and developing the capital and the country.
