Tien Giang artists: 50 years of creative effort and dedication

Tien Giang artists are people who are deeply attached to their homeland, taking material from the life and people of Tien Giang to create art. They not only inherit the patriotism and love for their homeland from previous generations, but also express their own identity in their works associated with the renovation, integration and real life in their homeland of Tien Giang.

NEVER STOP GROWING

Poet Truong Trong Nghia, Chairman of the Tien Giang Province Literature and Arts Association, said: “Since the first Literature and Arts Congress in 1979, the Association has had only about 60 artists and very few Central members.

Tien Giang artists went to Truong Son Cemetery to compose on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day.

Up to now, the Provincial Literature and Arts Association has had more than 400 members in 7 majors: Literature, Fine Arts, Photography, Music, Theater, Dance and Folk Arts, including 71 Central members, the quality of members is constantly improving.

Generations of artists in the province have promoted the role, responsibility, talent, and enthusiasm of soldiers on the ideological and cultural front, passionately creating art, creating works that touch the hearts and minds of the public, aiming at noble human values, contributing to the common achievements of the province since 50 years after the country's reunification.

Writer Thu Trang (former Vice President of the Tien Giang Province Literature and Arts Association), who has been involved in the Association's work since its early days, shared: "Director Van Sinh is considered the person who laid the foundation for the Tien Giang literature and arts movement after liberation.

He contributed a lot to discovering, training and nurturing young creative forces in Tien Giang in the early 80s. In the difficult years after liberation, the Tien Giang Provincial Literature and Arts Association had just been established but had organized a series of courses on literary composition, music , stage scripts, painting, etc. to build up the force.

Among the authors who participated in the creative training classes at that time, many people affirmed their prestige and reputation, holding key positions in the Association later such as: Composer Huynh Anh, writer Thu Trang, musician Le Ngan, sculptor Tran Van Tram...

From that solid foundation, the Tien Giang literary and artistic creation movement has gradually developed strongly in both breadth and depth. The period from the 1990s onwards has witnessed the clear maturity of the middle-aged artists - those who have continued the artistic ideals of the previous generation; at the same time, they have innovated the content and form of expression. Many of them have become members of central professional associations and won prestigious awards at the regional, national and international levels.

Over the past 50 years, Tien Giang has been a province with a large number of artists, many generations of continuous inheritance and development. One of the outstanding and strategic achievements in the development of the province's arts and culture over the past 50 years is the building of a large number of artists who are deeply attached to their homeland. This is not only a creative resource, but also a spiritual force that contributes to preserving identity, inspiring and encouraging the sustainable development of local cultural life.

In the field of literature, besides familiar names such as Doan Gioi, Tran Kim Trac, Bao Dinh Giang, Minh Loc, Le Ha, Thai Phong, Hoang To Nguyen, Nguyen Xuan An... who grew up during the resistance war, readers also know new generations of writers after 1975 such as: Luong Hieu Vui, Thu Trang, Kim Quyen, Dau Viet Huong, Hoang Thu Dung, Nguyen Thi Mong Thu...

In the poetry genre, there are Le Ai Siem, La Quoc Tien, Nguyen Chi, Hoang Kim Au, Tran Cong Tung, Tran Do Liem, Vo Thi Kim Lien, Vo Tan Cuong, Tran Thi Ngoc Hong, Vu Tuan... Next is the generation of writers who matured after 2000 and gradually created prestige in the national literary scene such as: Truong Trong Nghia, Nguyen Thanh Hai, Nguyen Chuong, Vuong Huy, Huynh Thi Quynh Nga, Ngoc Le, Nhat Linh, Nguyen Ngoc Minh Chau,...

The Tien Giang river region, a land rich in cultural traditions, is one of the cradles of the art of reformed opera. Therefore, the number of artists in the theater field is large, with famous names such as playwrights: Van Sinh, Chau Thanh, Huynh Anh, Nguyen Thanh Hai, Hoang Ly, Lien Phuong... along with a force of talented and dedicated actors, musicians, and actors, constantly contributing and making efforts to preserve and promote traditional theater arts, especially reformed opera.

In the field of music, besides veteran musicians such as Van Luu, Viet Trung, Tran Linh, Nguyen Nhuan..., the later generation of composers such as: Le Ngan, Ngo Ngoc Hung, Do Thanh Binh, Dang Tran Doan, Vo Quang Dam, Duong Nam... have also left many marks through movements to compose songs about homeland, revolution, youth, love...

The fine arts field also recorded the presence and strong development of painters and sculptors, typically: Tin Trung, Tran Van Tram, Luong Van Thanh, Le Hong Thai, Phuc An, Hoang Anh, Le Duy, Bao Viet...

Currently, the force of young artists in Tien Giang is constantly growing and developing, with many works exhibited regionally and nationally. In the field of photography, besides famous names such as Duy Anh, Huu Tien, Tran Bieu, Duy Son, Huynh Xe..., authors of the next generation such as Le Hai, Pham Nhut Thuong, Ha Quoc Thai, Duy Nhut, Tran Tuan, Cao Lap Duc... have also affirmed their talents through many regional, national and international awards. In the relatively new field of dance, many names have emerged such as Chi Thien, Thu Thuy, Phan Thanh Tuan, Le Van Nghia... who have left many creative marks in art.

Promoting the spirit of dedication and participation, the Tien Giang artists have strongly accompanied the development of the province and have achieved great and comprehensive achievements in composing, collecting, researching, criticizing, promoting works, building the Literature and Arts Association, nurturing young talents, etc.

Over the past half century, Tien Giang artists have contributed a large number of works to the cultural and artistic life of the province in particular and the country in general. Tien Giang artists have created a rich treasure trove of literary and artistic works, vividly reflecting all aspects of life. Tien Giang artists have always devoted themselves to creating works that enrich cultural and spiritual life; at the same time, they have the effect of encouraging and praising new elements, contributing to the overall development of the province.
