On June 19, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province coordinated with the People's Committee of Tra Bong district to organize a ceremony to announce the list of National Intangible Cultural Heritage for two types of culture of the Cor people.

At the ceremony, Mr. Nong Quoc Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage, awarded the certificate of National Intangible Cultural Heritage to the People's Committee of Tra Bong district.

Tra Bong is a mountainous district of Quang Ngai province, a place with a long history, a long-standing residence of many ethnic minority communities, of which the Cor are one of the indigenous peoples with unique culture, beliefs, and customs. Through many historical changes, the Cor people here still preserve precious traditional cultural values.

In particular, Nga Ra Festival is a unique ritual to pray for a good harvest after each harvest, one of the unique and long-standing traditional cultural activities of the Cor people. Meanwhile, Ca Dao dance is a form of folk performance closely associated with spiritual life and community activities. Both are typical expressions, imbued with the identity of the Cor people.

Nga Ra Festival is not only a festival, but also a core part of the spiritual life of the Cor people, loved by the community, maintained and passed down from generation to generation. The art of Ca Dao dance, with its traditional dances, is a symbol of joy, optimism and solidarity, often appearing in major festivals of the community.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province emphasized: The recognition of two national heritages is a worthy recognition for the efforts to preserve and pass on the cultural values of the Cor people.

This is also vivid evidence of the attention of the Party, State and cultural sector to the work of preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of ethnic minorities.

The leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province believe that it is necessary to develop a plan to preserve, teach, restore and promote heritage values, associated with tourism development and ethnic culturaleducation for the younger generation. At the same time, propose policies to support village elders, artisans, and shamans, who play a key role in preserving and spreading these precious cultural values.
