The trend of "short-term travel " is especially popular among Vietnamese people during this year's summer travel season.

According to the latest report from digital travel platform Agoda, Ho Chi Minh City unexpectedly surpassed traditional resort destinations to top the list of most attractive destinations for short trips, alongside familiar names such as Da Nang, Hanoi , Vung Tau and Da Lat.

Without the need for elaborate planning or spending a lot of time, short-term travel, often lasting just one night or a weekend, is becoming an option for individuals who want to "de-stress" instantly while still having a complete experience.

This type is especially suitable for young urban people, office workers or families with busy schedules, but still want to explore and enjoy precious moments of rest.

According to Agoda, this trend contributes to "reviving" the need to explore familiar destinations in a new way, with compact but equally attractive itineraries.

Ho Chi Minh City leading the list of most popular short-term destinations is a pleasant surprise in Agoda's rankings.

Although it does not have the advantages of a resort like the sea or mountains, it is the dynamism, diverse nightlife activities and modern amenities that have helped this city score points with domestic tourists.

Just one night in Ho Chi Minh City, visitors can fully experience from cool rooftop cocktails, unique street food to bustling streets that never sleep. The intersection between vibrant life and easy connectivity makes Ho Chi Minh City an ideal choice for a "change of pace" without having to go far.

Right after Ho Chi Minh City is Da Nang, a "livable city" with blue sea, iconic bridges and riverside cafes. Hanoi with its ancient beauty, unique cuisine and unique cultural experiences is still a must-see destination for a 24-hour trip.

Vung Tau continues to be the top choice for southern tourists due to its close proximity and easy access. Meanwhile, Da Lat still attracts tourists with its cool air, charming nature and peaceful corners in the mountains and forests.

Mr. Vu Ngoc Lam - Country Director of Agoda Vietnam - said that with diverse landscapes and an increasingly convenient transportation system, Vietnam creates ideal conditions for people to travel at any time. This is a favorable factor for short-term tourism to develop.

The concept of short-term tourism is understood as a form of tourism with a short stay, usually lasting from 1 to 3 days, most commonly 1 night or 2 days on the weekend. This type is suitable for busy people who want to take advantage of a short period of time to rest, relax or explore a nearby destination without complicated preparation.
