Launching the 2025 'For Vietnam's Education Cause' Journalism Award

The National Press Award “For the Cause of Vietnamese Education” aims to honor authors whose press works are about the cause of education and training. At the same time, it honors outstanding collectives and individuals who have made many contributions to the cause of “growing people”.

On the afternoon of July 16, the Ministry of Education and Training held a press conference and launched the 8th National Press Award "For the Cause of Vietnamese Education" in 2025.

In his opening speech, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc said: 2025 is the 8th year the National Journalism Award “For the Cause of Vietnam Education” is held. The award aims to honor authors with journalistic works on the cause of education and training. At the same time, it honors outstanding collectives and individuals who have made many contributions to the cause of “growing people”.

"Through this, we together look at and objectively evaluate the contributions of the education sector to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. Through this, we help society understand education correctly and fully. From there, we share, support and accompany teachers across the country in particular and the entire education sector in general," Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc emphasized.

Recognizing and thanking the press for its important contribution to bringing the education sector's policies and guidelines to life, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc hopes to continue receiving positive responses from journalists, reporters, and collaborators from central and local press agencies across the country to participate and contribute excellent press works on education.

Journalist Trieu Ngoc Lam, Editor-in-Chief of Education and Times Newspaper, Permanent Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, said: In recent times, under the direction of the Party, State , and Government leaders, the Ministry of Education and Training has issued many important policies, most recently the Law on Teachers. Along with that, other laws such as the Law on Education, the Law on Higher Education, and the Law on Vocational Education are also being amended and supplemented.

Major tasks are being carried out such as: Implementing the 2018 General Education Program, renewing exams. In addition, a series of other educational issues are of concern such as: School health, school violence, school safety and hygiene...

"We hope to have the companionship and creative perspectives of our colleagues on the above mentioned educational issues. In addition, articles that are exploratory, critical, have great social impact, and help change the awareness of young people, students, and pupils are also highly appreciated," said journalist Trieu Ngoc Lam.

The Editor-in-Chief of Education and Times Newspaper said that after 7 years of organization and now entering its 8th year, the National Press Award for Vietnam Education continues to affirm itself as a prestigious professional playground, a place to honor quality press works, inspire and encourage educational innovation, for a humane, progressive and integrated education.

Regarding the award criteria, according to Mr. Lam, the work must ensure authenticity, accuracy, objectivity, and have the right ideological and political orientation. The content of the work must raise educational issues that are of public interest; have the quality of discovery, summary or guidance, be convincing and have high social effectiveness; have an attractive and creative method of expression; and have a positive impact on the work of educational innovation. Works of a fictional nature will not be considered.

Outstanding educational activities have been and are being implemented in localities and educational institutions at all levels from preschool to university. Collectives and individuals have many outstanding solutions, results, achievements, and innovations in teaching and learning in the spirit of Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW on fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training; Conclusion 91-KL/TW of the Politburo on continuing to implement Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW; Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation. Touching stories, influential, positive impacts and inspiration to society about the image of teachers and their contributions to the country's education cause.

The award is considered in 4 categories: Print, electronic, radio and television.

Press works participating in the award must be expressed in Vietnamese, published in licensed press forms, distributed domestically and abroad. The works must be published and broadcast from September 5, 2024 to September 4, 2025.

Each work is an article or series of articles of no more than 5 installments for print and electronic newspapers, and no more than 5 programs for radio and television (each radio program is no more than 60 minutes, each television program is no more than 120 minutes).

The Organizing Committee does not consider awards for works awaiting evaluation and conclusion from competent authorities; works that have won awards from the National Press Awards or other specialized national press awards; and works of a fictional nature.

The organizers will award a special prize. Each journalism category will have one first prize, two second prizes, three third prizes and a number of consolation prizes. In addition, the organizers will award two prizes to outstanding figures selected from the winning works.

Deadline for submissions is September 30, 2025.

The National Press Award for Vietnam's Education Cause has been organized by the Ministry of Education and Training since 2018. The award aims to honor authors with excellent press works on the cause of education, and the contributions of typical collectives and individuals to the cause of education and training.

Through awards and press works, we also aim to propagate and spread the results and achievements of the education sector in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, discover typical advanced examples, encourage and motivate teachers and education and training managers to continue to contribute more to the cause of education.
