For many years, Ap Bac Newspaper and Tien Giang Radio and Television Station (abbreviated as THTG) have not only reflected the multi-dimensional life and people of the province, but have gradually become a trusted address connecting kind-hearted people inside and outside the province to help people in difficult circumstances in the area.

Timely sharing

The day we returned, Tran Le Minh Thinh (in Binh Long hamlet, Thanh Binh commune, Cho Gao district) was healthy and happy... Thinh is one of the pitiful cases that Ap Bac Newspaper wrote an article about to call for support before.

Ap Bac Newspaper in coordination with sponsors and local authorities organized the handover ceremony of "House of Love" to poor households.

When Thinh was taken to Children's Hospital 1 ( Ho Chi Minh City) for examination and treatment, the doctors diagnosed him with encephalitis and meningitis. The disease had left him almost in a vegetative state.

Through the article reflecting on Thinh's case published in Ap Bac Newspaper, many organizations and benefactors have supported Thinh with over 120 million VND for his medical treatment. Of which, the organizations and benefactors, through Ap Bac Newspaper and the account of Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh (Thinh's mother), sent Thinh a total of over 90 million VND (Ap Bac Newspaper's Youth Union visited and gave the above amount to Thinh 6 times). In addition, the benefactors visited and directly sent the remaining amount to Thinh's family.

It is known that during the time Thinh was sick, his mother, Linh, had to quit her job as a garment worker to take care of him and her eldest daughter. Linh shared: “I would like to thank everyone, all the kind-hearted uncles and aunts who helped my son, Thinh, with money for treatment. Previously, the doctor said Thinh could only recover 30%; but now Thinh can say that he has recovered more than 80%, I am so happy!

Now I just hope Thinh can continue to go to school and I can find a stable job to take care of my two children."

We also do not forget the tears of gratitude of Mrs. Tran Thi Xuan (born in 1957, in Rach Trac Hamlet, My Phuoc Tay Commune, Cai Lay Town) when Ap Bac Newspaper mobilized support to build a "House of Love".

It is known that Ms. Xuan is living with her 2 children and 1 nephew, all 3 of whom have mental illness. Every day, Ms. Xuan's whole family struggles with a difficult life, so having a safe home, enough to shelter the whole family from the rain and sun, is always a dream. Through surveying and learning about Ms. Xuan's family situation, the "House of Love" program of Ap Bac Newspaper connected with My Tho Port Joint Stock Company to support 50 million VND to make her family's dream come true.

In addition, one of the highlights in the social security work of Ap Bac Newspaper is the annual implementation of the "Wings of Dreams" scholarship program, awarding hundreds of scholarships to students who have overcome difficulties to study well. From the scholarships awarded, the program has "given wings" to more than 1,200 students in difficult circumstances to continue to realize their dreams.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Tan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Head of the Charity and Social Group of Ap Bac Newspaper shared: “Every year, Ap Bac Newspaper publishes dozens of genuine and touching articles about the lives of the unfortunate, becoming a bridge of humanity connecting the community. Through these articles by reporters and contributors published in Ap Bac Newspaper, readers have donated hundreds of millions of VND to help difficult cases, the sick, the lonely elderly, orphans, the disabled, and poor students, overcoming difficulties...

In addition to the scholarship program “Wings of Dreams” and “House of Love”, every year, Ap Bac Newspaper also mobilizes to give thousands of Mid-Autumn gifts to children in difficult circumstances. Each gift includes moon cakes and lanterns. Although the gifts are not large in material value, they have meaningful spiritual value, helping children enjoy the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The units that have always accompanied Ap Bac Newspaper in charity and social programs for many years include: Tien Giang Lottery Company Limited, Tien Giang Petroleum Company; My Tho Port Joint Stock Company...
