Lang Son: Ceremony to receive the Certificate of Recognition as UNESCO Global Geopark

Lang Son Provincial People's Committee has just issued Plan No. 165/KH-UBND on organizing the Ceremony to receive the Certificate of Recognition of the UNESCO Global Geopark Title of Lang Son.

The ceremony to receive the UNESCO Global Geopark Certificate was held to honor the unique heritage values, preserve traditional culture, effectively promote the values ​​of scenic heritage, and promote tourism products to the community and visitors.

Parallel to the ceremony to receive the Certificate of Recognition are commemorative activities to acknowledge the event, and at the same time organize a campaign to promote the Title and value of the geological heritage of the UNESCO Lang Son Global Geopark through media channels, promote investment and call for domestic and international funding for the UNESCO Lang Son Global Geopark.

The ceremony to receive the title of UNESCO Global Geopark Lang Son is scheduled to be held on June 28, at Muong Thanh Hotel, Lang Son city.

The content of the ceremony includes: Meeting between the Government leaders, Central ministries and branches, Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO, Leaders of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee with the UNESCO High-level Delegation; Organizing the Ceremony to receive the Certificate of Recognition of the UNESCO Lang Son Global Geopark Title (Reception Ceremony).

In addition, within the framework of the ceremony, there will be sideline activities: Organizing a reception for the UNESCO Delegation and delegates attending the Reception Ceremony; Discussion on the construction and development of the UNESCO Lang Son Global Geopark, signing cooperation agreements with a number of Geopark partners; Annual Conference of the Expert Subcommittee on Vietnam Global Geopark in 2025.

Lang Son Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center as the standing agency responsible for advising on general directive documents, directly advising and organizing the implementation of activities in the program as assigned in the Plan; regularly monitoring, urging, synthesizing and reporting on the implementation of activities according to the plan.

Coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Lang Son Newspaper and Radio and Television Station and related agencies and units to strengthen propaganda and promotion of Lang Son Geopark and the Reception Ceremony on social networking platforms and on the unit's tourism information page.

The Provincial People's Committee requested that the organization of the Ceremony to receive the Certificate of Recognition of the UNESCO Global Geopark Title in Lang Son, combined with the program to promote tourism and investment in the Geopark area, needs to be carefully and solemnly prepared, ensuring efficiency, safety and savings; creating a good impression on delegates and tourists inside and outside the province, spreading a joyful and exciting atmosphere to all classes of people in the province and participating units.
