Hoang Minh Phuong (2009), a Nung ethnic, is currently a 10th grade student at Huu Lung High School, Lang Son province. Her family is poor, does not have their own house, all 4 people have to live in their uncle's house and share the kitchen with their grandparents.
Minh Phuong's father, Hoang Quang Nghiem (1982), lost a leg in a work accident at a wood workshop in 2005. Since then, all of his activities have depended on wooden crutches. The day the Vietnamese Family Home crew visited the family, Phuong's mother was still fighting late-stage nasopharyngeal cancer, which was gradually spreading to the bones. Ironically, before the program could be recorded, her mother passed away on April 30, 2025.
After his wife passed away, Nghiem tried to get back on his feet to support his children. Currently, he grows guava to earn income, each crop lasts from 4 to 5 months. After deducting all expenses, there is only about 20 million VND left. In addition, his family also adopted a cow that someone else lent them. When the cow gives birth, they will keep the calf and return it to the mother cow as a fee for raising it.
Phuong's younger brother is Hoang Xuan Thinh (2011), currently studying in grade 7 at Dong Tan Secondary School. Thinh is a good boy, always listens to his teachers and loves his father and sister very much.
A life of poverty, having to depend on relatives, having a father who lost a leg in an accident, and now losing his beloved mother, are all huge losses for Minh Phuong. However, she still tries to study every day to not let her father down. When asked about her dreams, Phuong simply said: “I just hope my father is as healthy as before, my two sisters can continue to go to school, and my family can live happily like before.”
The dream of a home filled with love, with both parents by her side, warm family meals and laughter like in her childhood seemed to have become too far away for Phuong. And more than anyone else, she wished she would grow up quickly so that she could soon repay her father.
At the studio, MC Thanh Thao burst into tears when she learned that the pain of losing her mother was still too fresh for Minh Phuong and her sister. The whole family still wore mourning clothes when they came to the recording session. What moved the MC equally was the image of a disabled father who still worked hard for his family. Despite losing a leg, Nghiem still went to work in the garden with the hope of having a source of income for his children to study properly.
Singer Tuan Cry shared that, as a father with young children, he deeply understands the love that Mr. Nghiem has for his children. The male singer could not hide his admiration for the silent sacrifice of a father who, despite being deprived and facing many difficulties, never thought of giving up.
Athlete Thanh Thuy was also choked with emotion, saying she could not imagine how the children could endure such a sudden and great loss. While wiping away her tears, she encouraged Minh Phuong and her sister to be strong to overcome the pain, to persevere in pursuing their dreams and never give up hope.
In addition to sharing and encouraging the characters, singer Tuan Cry and athlete Thanh Thuy also contributed to the challenges, helping the children bring home valuable prizes from Hoa Sen Group . After the challenges, Luong Thi Ngoc Lan's family came in third place, receiving a prize of 18 million VND. Duong Thi Dieu's family came in second place, receiving a prize of 25 million VND. Hoang Minh Phuong's family came in first place, completing the special challenge and bringing home 65 million VND.
Sympathizing with the difficulties that the children are going through, singer Tuan Cry and athlete Thanh Thuy sent each family a special gift as a word of encouragement and sharing.
In addition, due to the postponement of the filming schedule, the two streamers Do Mixi and PewPew could not arrange to participate in the recording at the new time. However, each donated 30 million VND to support the three children in episode 139. Both expressed their desire to continue accompanying the Vietnamese Family Home and affirmed that they will try to arrange to participate in the program in the upcoming episodes.
At the same time, singer Duc Phuc also donated 20 million VND to Dieu's family and 10 million VND to Ngoc Lan's family as a spiritual encouragement, hoping that they will steadfastly overcome adversity.
Donors and viewers who watched the show live also joined hands to support more than 300 million VND for the children in this episode. In particular, the sponsor - Hoa Sen Group decided to visit, survey and replace the entire corrugated iron roof for Hoang Minh Phuong's family, contributing to bringing a more solid and safe home for the children.
Thus, in episode 139 of the program Vietnamese Family Home , the total amount of support given to families was up to more than 400 million VND, of which 108 million VND was a bonus from Hoa Sen Group.
The program Vietnamese Family Warmth airs at 8:20 p.m. every Friday on HTV7. The program is produced by Bee Media Company in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City Television, with the support of Hoa Sen Home Construction Materials & Interior Supermarket System (Hoa Sen Group) and Hoa Sen Plastic Pipe - Source of Happiness.
