Sa Pa has 13 more OCOP products

The "One Commune One Product" (OCOP) program is highly focused on in Sa Pa town (Lao Cai). In May 2025, the town completed product evaluation and classification and had 13 more products achieving 3 stars, bringing the total number of products meeting OCOP standards in the area to 53. Of which, 2 products achieved 5-star OCOP at the Central level.

On June 18, the People's Committee of Sa Pa town organized a ceremony to award certificates to two establishments, Nguyen Van Huy business household and Vietnam Brocade Production and Trade Services Company Limited, whose products meet 3-star OCOP standards. Each unit carries its own story about its identity and persistent efforts to create products from the mountains, forests, and sky of Sa Pa.

Notably, Vietnam Brocade Production and Trading Services Company Limited has up to 6 brocade products officially recognized as meeting 3-star OCOP standards, including: Sa Pa brocade ao dai, men's brocade shirts, U-shaped brocade pillows, Sa Pa brocade lamps, Sa Pa brocade stuffed animals, Sa Pa brocade scarves.

These are all products crystallized from indigenous materials, from flax fibers - indigo plants and other natural colors from familiar plants such as (yellow vine, bamboo leaves; brown tubers...) as well as traditional manual techniques and the dedicated hands of many highland craftsmen.

Ms. Tran Thi Hien, Director of Vietnam Brocade Production and Trading Services Limited Company confided: The biggest wish when receiving OCOP certification is how to make brocade not only stop at the title, but really live in contemporary life, each shirt, scarf, stuffed animal... carrying the soul of the mountains and forests can be closer to tourists, to Vietnamese people, to the world . And tomorrow, those products will be named not only because they are beautiful but because they carry an entire culture.
