Nguyen Thanh Hung, the officer in charge of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Long Hoa Ward, said that there are currently 310 victims of Agent Orange in the ward. After the merger, the Association joined hands to mobilize social resources to give more than 70 gifts and livelihood capital to the victims, each gift worth from 300,000 to 350,000 VND; giving at least 5 million VND in livelihood capital, and at most 10 million VND.
Providing livelihood capital to cases
At the meeting of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Long Hoa Ward on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the Agent Orange disaster and the Day for Victims of Agent Orange in Vietnam (August 10, 1961 - August 10, 2025), summarizing the work of caring for and helping victims of Agent Orange, Vice Chairman of Long Hoa Ward People's Committee Nguyen Huu Vinh acknowledged and commended the achievements of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in the ward in the past time.
Accordingly, the Association plays an important role in implementing social security policies with the theme "Innovating operation methods - focusing on grassroots care for Agent Orange victims"; at the same time, actively propagandizing and mobilizing many philanthropists to participate in material and spiritual support for Agent Orange victims.
On this occasion, the unit presented 50 gifts (each worth 400,000 VND) and 5 livelihood capital packages to Agent Orange victims (including 4 packages worth 5 million VND/package, 1 package worth 10 million VND)./.
