When the pale yellow afternoon sunlight penetrates through the gaps between the leaves, bringing a bit of chill to everywhere, groups of young people gather on the reed beds growing along the banks of the Han River ( Da Nang City), the sleeping lands at the estuary.

In colorful costumes, laughter and whispering mixed with thousands of pure white reeds gently swaying in the wind.

Mop.

In recent years, the season of white reed grass blooming is no longer a milestone of time but has become a tourist product, attracting many people and tourists.

Amidst the vast grass and flowers, they blend into nature, capturing unforgettable moments.

The white reeds swaying lazily in the wind make the space even more peaceful and poetic. Standing in the middle of the white reeds, looking up at the blue sky and the gently drifting white clouds, you will surely wish this peaceful moment would stop forever.

Girls in their prime shyly stand next to flower petals gently tilted in the wind, as if searching for an answer, a support for the purity and innocence of their souls. Every person is born and grows up looking for their own goals and reasons for living.

But when they meet in the white reed field, they will surely be the same, that is, finding a little peace in the moment of the intersection of heaven and earth. The reed field is a pure white color like the purity and innocence of the soul, soft and gentle in the breeze like the way you calmly and peacefully welcome the "winds" of life.

We have seen the fragile white reeds growing in the border areas, or the vast fields of reeds on the river banks of the midlands and mountainous areas of the North. But the white reeds blooming in Da Nang - the city at the beginning of the sea and the end of the river - brings indescribable emotions, signaling a change in the land and sky. That change is considered by the people as a sign of the coming season of peace.

According to the experience of local fishermen, the reed flowers will only bloom when this year's storms have passed, leaving peace for the land, the sky, and the sea. The Central region has been struggling to endure natural disasters for many years.

Storms such as Chanchu, Xangsane (2006); Ketsana (2009); Son Tinh (2012); Haiyan – Hai Yen (2013)… have taken away property, lives and tears. Countless fishing boats and fishermen have been left forever in the cold sea. Many brave old fishermen and young men have returned, narrowly escaping death but suffering lifelong disabilities. Many families have fallen into debt, orphaned, and alone because of the fury of nature.

People compare the Central region to a shoulder pole, fragile but durable, resilient, bending but never breaking. After the rain, the sky clears up again, boats sail out to sea again, and people along the coast go back to the fields for the new crop.

Boys and girls capture moments next to white reeds.

With the experience accumulated over many generations, local people always consider the white reed flowers, though fragile and swaying in the wind, delicate enough to hide in the ground for a whole year. The reed flowers only stretch out to catch the wind when the sky and earth are peaceful and nature is in harmony. That moment is the peaceful season, strengthening the belief and will to rise up, compensating for the losses and damages of people in this land of sun, wind and natural disasters.

Winter has come. People's steps seem to be hurried, trying to complete the year's goals, or wandering in dreamland. The reed fields, after about 2-3 weeks of blooming, gradually wither, sowing seeds of hope into the ground. They patiently hide and sleep, then stretch up to catch the wind and wait for people's footsteps to return, bringing with them freshness and peace…
