(Dan Tri) - The participation of large private economic groups in a series of key transport projects not only realizes the goal of 5,000km of highways, but also expands the national infrastructure ecosystem, from airports, aviation to energy, logistics and seaports.

Vietravel Airlines welcomes first owned aircraft

On June 28, Vietravel Airlines (VU) officially welcomed the Airbus A321 - the first aircraft owned by the airline. This is a strategic milestone in the journey to build its own fleet, consolidating the position of this young but potential airline.

In July, the airline plans to continue operating two Airbus A320 aircraft, reinforcing its plan to increase its fleet with modern, flexible and efficient aircraft. The airline will increase the frequency of flights connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with major tourist destinations such as Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Quy Nhon and international destinations in the region.

This step not only increases operating capacity but also affirms the strong comeback of Vietravel Airlines after a difficult period, especially since T&T Group became a strategic shareholder at the end of 2024. T&T Group affirms that it will devote a lot of enthusiasm, determination and resources to make Vietravel Airlines a leading airline.

Vietravel Airlines has now become an important piece in the new ecosystem that T&T is aiming for, with the ambition to develop an aviation group model. This aviation ecosystem includes airlines, airports, maintenance, repair, flight services, ground airport services as well as the aviation - logistics - airport urban industrial complex.

Vietnam’s aviation industry has witnessed large private enterprises investing in airport construction projects in a lightning-fast 2-year period, expanding the country’s airport and seaport system. This also proves that private enterprises can handle difficult and complex fields such as airport infrastructure investment.

The birth of Resolution 68 of the Politburo on private economic development and Resolution 198 of the National Assembly on a number of special mechanisms and policies for private economic development are expected to "untie" and pave the way for the private sector to develop strongly and undertake large super projects such as high-speed railways, airports, highways, etc.

According to Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Cuong, member of the National Assembly's Finance and Budget Committee, Resolution 68 has created a breakthrough by affirming that the private economy is the pioneering force in the process of restructuring the economy. In particular, the resolution sets the goal of having businesses reaching international and global stature.

For aviation, Resolution 68 can be likened to wings, along with the socialized aviation investment project that has been built, which will help the Vietnamese aviation industry take off, not only increasing the number of private airlines, but also rapidly expanding the aviation infrastructure ecosystem.

From mega port to aviation industrial complex

In July 2024, T&T Group started construction of the Quang Tri airport project with a scale of more than 265 hectares, with a total investment of VND 5,800 billion. According to the initial plan, this airport was built according to level 4C standards; however, recently the investor and Quang Tri province have proposed to upgrade to level 4E, in order to expand the capacity to receive wide-body aircraft such as Boeing 777, Airbus A350, serving the goal of international connectivity and development of the North Central region.

Quang Tri Airport has a scale of more than 265 hectares, with a total investment of more than 5,800 billion VND.

Mr. Do Quang Hien, founder and Executive Chairman of T&T Group, said that he has devoted much of his heart to Quang Tri land. Quang Tri Airport not only serves the local economic development, but is also a project to continue and pay tribute to the heroic land.

Not stopping there, T&T is also planning to develop an aviation industrial complex - logistics - service - trade - airport urban area with a scale of about 10,800 hectares (the aviation industrial complex alone is about 7,000 hectares) located in Quang Tri province; including all the functional areas for an aviation industrial complex such as: aircraft maintenance and repair, production and assembly of aircraft spare parts and components, aircraft equipment, aircraft production and testing..., logistics and cargo transit service area (logistics hub), innovative aviation area, modern service center area and airport urban area. If this idea is successfully implemented, this will be the first aviation industrial complex - airport urban area model in Vietnam.

T&T Group is also the first private economic group in Vietnam to become a strategic shareholder of Quang Ninh port - a deep-water port located in the key economic region of the North of Vietnam.

Although quite secretive when participating in the infrastructure sector, if observing the strategic steps of T&T Group in recent years, it is easy to see that T&T Group is gradually affirming its position as a leading private economic group in large-scale infrastructure projects that have been, are being and will be implemented across the country.

Along with Quang Tri airport, Quang Ninh port, Vietnam SuperPort smart logistics port in Vinh Phuc, Nam Phuc Tho industrial cluster, the group is showing a big vision with the Quang Tri airport urban-industrial complex and Vietravel Airlines. T&T Group's closed ecosystem will contribute to promoting the development of multimodal transport as well as creating competition and breakthroughs for Vietnam's potential logistics industry.

T&T Group's infrastructure picture does not stop at transport infrastructure, seaports, and logistics. The Group said it is focusing many resources on investment, becoming a leading group in energy infrastructure development - in accordance with the spirit of Resolution No. 55 of the Politburo on the strategic orientation of national energy development to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Currently, T&T Group has completed investing in dozens of solar and wind power projects in the coastal areas of the Central and Central Highlands regions with a capacity of 50-100MW; is constructing the Hai Lang LNG project with a capacity of 1,500 MW (phase 1) in Quang Tri, the Savan 1 wind power project with a capacity of 300 MW (phase 1) in Laos...

This is also consistent with the orientation in Resolution 57 of the Politburo on the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, which emphasizes: Focusing on developing energy infrastructure, especially new energy, clean energy and ensuring energy security for the development of science, technology and strategic industries.

T&T is not only investing in renewable energy but also gradually building the foundation for a high-tech industrial ecosystem, contributing to ensuring national energy security - an important foundation for a modern and independent economy.

Highways unleash strategic economic potential

To realize the goal of 5,000km of expressway by 2030, expressway projects are being implemented across the country, marking the mark of large private enterprises. On June 29, Bao Loc - Lien Khuong expressway (phase 1) invested by the T&T Group - Futa Group - Phuong Thanh joint venture was started in Lam Dong.

Delegates pressed the button to start construction of the Bao Loc - Lien Khuong expressway project.

The project has a total investment of 17,718 billion VND, is more than 73.6km long, and has a design speed of 100km/hour. When completed, it will become an important link on the Dau Giay - Lien Khuong axis, which is more than 200km long, shortening the travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Lat to only 3 hours.

The Bao Loc - Lien Khuong route will be synchronized with the province's aviation infrastructure, notably Lien Khuong airport - one of the largest airports in the Central Highlands, which is being planned to be upgraded to an international airport. The close connection between high-speed roads and airways will form a modern transport ecosystem, contributing to making Lam Dong a strategic transit center for the entire Southern Central Highlands - Central Coast - Southeast region. The value of the Bao Loc - Lien Khuong expressway lies not only in its nearly 74km, but also in unleashing the potential for the entire strategic economic corridor of hundreds of kilometers, creating new growth momentum for the entire region.

Besides participating in the Bao Loc - Lien Khuong expressway project, T&T also registered to become an investor in component project 3 - investing in the construction of Ring Road 4 and is waiting for approval to be able to promote implementation.

According to Dr. Phan Le Binh, Chief Representative of OCG Consulting Company - Japan, expanding the mechanism for private sector participation in infrastructure investment is very necessary, mobilizing more financial potential and dynamism of private enterprises.

The groundbreaking of Bao Loc - Lien Khuong Expressway and Vietravel Airlines welcoming its first aircraft are the two latest highlights in the journey to expand the infrastructure - transportation - logistics - aviation ecosystem that T&T Group is pursuing. This is a modern development model that large private corporations in Vietnam are forming: total force - integration - multimodal, according to international standards.

Not only an investor in airports, seaports or highways, T&T Group is following a different path: creating a complete infrastructure ecosystem including energy, seaports, aviation, logistics, highways, urban areas, real estate, etc.

In the context of policies that have “unleashed” the private sector, businesses like T&T are contributing to establishing a modern, synchronous and multi-connected infrastructure - a vital factor for Vietnam to become a leading manufacturing, logistics and aviation center in the region.
