BHG - On the morning of June 28, the Steering Committee for the 2025 provincial firefighting and rescue plan drill organized a firefighting and rescue plan drill, mobilizing many forces and vehicles to participate at Yen Bien Luxury Hotel ( Ha Giang City). Attending the drill were comrade Vuong Ngoc Ha, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the 2025 provincial firefighting and rescue plan drill and comrades members of the drill steering committee.

The exercise mobilized nearly 200 people and 14 specialized vehicles, including fire trucks, rescue vehicles and professional equipment from the police, military, units and businesses in the area. The hypothetical situation was a fire in the kitchen area on the 3rd floor and the storage room in the basement. The time of the fire coincided with the time when the facility was holding a conference and wedding party, with about 150 people attending. The fire broke out strongly, smoke and toxic gas quickly engulfed the entire escape area, causing many people to be injured and trapped on the upper floors, unable to escape. During the evacuation process, 8 people entered the elevator and were trapped between the 6th and 7th floors, unable to get out, and in a state of panic. In the basement, due to thick smoke limiting visibility, the driver of a 7-seat car panicked and crashed into parked cars, injuring 5 people, trapping them in the car and blocking the basement exit on Nguyen Trai Street, causing great difficulty for rescue work.

Immediately after detecting the fire, the local Fire Prevention and Fighting Team quickly deployed fire-fighting equipment and vehicles on site to control the initial fire. However, due to the rapid spread of the fire, with a risk of a major outbreak, the local forces urgently reported to the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police and Rescue Force. After receiving the report, the Command Information Center immediately mobilized forces and vehicles to the scene to carry out firefighting and rescue work. Given the complexity and risk of the fire spreading, the Provincial Police and then the Provincial People's Committee mobilized additional support forces including: the Provincial Military Command, the Department of Health, the Department of Construction, the Provincial General Hospital, the City Electricity and the Ha Giang Water Supply and Drainage Joint Stock Company to coordinate in handling the incident.

Immediately afterwards, the authorities quickly deployed plans to rescue people and property. Thanks to the effective application of scientific firefighting and rescue tactics and techniques, as well as the smooth coordination between the participating forces, the fire was controlled and completely extinguished. After the firefighting operation was completed, the Firefighting Command directed the authorities to protect the scene to serve the investigation and verification of the cause of the fire.

Speaking at the drill, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Ngoc Ha affirmed: The drill is of special importance in raising awareness and sense of responsibility of all levels, sectors and the entire population for fire prevention and fighting. This is also an opportunity for civil defense forces and grassroots fire prevention and fighting forces to practice skills, improve coordination and flexibly handle real-life situations, contributing to minimizing human and property damage caused by fires and explosions. He acknowledged and highly appreciated the results of the drill; the participating forces and vehicles demonstrated a serious spirit and high responsibility in performing their assigned tasks, ensuring the right goals, requirements and absolute safety throughout the organization process. Promoting the achieved results, in the coming time, we will regularly strengthen the spirit of vigilance, gradually spread fire prevention and fighting awareness, and prevent risks caused by fires and explosions.
At the fire fighting and rescue drill at Yen Bien Luxury Hotel, participating units were commended, rewarded and received gifts from the Provincial People's Committee.
