In the first semi-final round of the Sing! Asia 2025 program (The Voice of Asia) , Phuong My Chi collaborated with female singer Kha Lau in the mashup Tuy Am - Luc Hai Vi Vuong. Phuong My Chi sang Luc Hai Vi Vuong in Vietnamese and Kelou performed Tuy Am in Chinese.
The Vietnamese singer gave many audiences goosebumps when he mixed the vọng cổ verse from the Mê Linh Drum - a classic cải lương piece - into the song's arrangement.
The harmonious combination helped Phuong My Chi's team earn 190.6 points, ranking 3rd out of 5 pairs and advancing to the next round. Thanks to the victory in this round, Phuong My Chi continued to enter the semi-finals, where the contestants competed for a place in the final.

Sharing about the performance, Phuong My Chi wrote: “This is the first time I have brought Vietnamese reformed opera and Chinese opera together on an international stage. Two separate cultures but shining together. I am truly proud to be part of this combination.”
The success of the mashup requires the cooperation of the DTAP production team. Before starting the mix, DTAP carefully studies the characteristics of each genre, from musical structure to performance style.
“This is not just a competition but a journey of storytelling through music between two cultures; a predestined meeting,” affirmed the DTAP representative.
Phuong My Chi advanced to the second semi-final round.
As the representative of Vietnam at the game show Sing! Asia , Phuong My Chi received much attention from the audience. The performances of the singer born in 2003 became the center of attention not only in Vietnam but also caused a fever on Chinese social networks.
In the quarter-final night, she performed the song Bong phu hoa, combining traditional music with contemporary breath. Chinese diva Truong Luong Dinh - the judge of the show, known as the "Dolphin Voice Queen" of the Chinese music industry - gave Phuong My Chi a round of applause for her performance.
Phuong My Chi once said "I want to go to Sing! Asia 2025 to sing Vietnamese songs, interact with international artists, and learn from them to contribute to my country in the future."
Thanks to the show's appeal, Chinese media called Phuong My Chi "the miracle of oriental folk music".
Sing! Asia 2025 is a reality music competition held on a cruise ship during a 30-day journey, produced by the entertainment platform iQiYi (China). 32 Asian singers and bands will go through rounds of confrontation, competition, and glory to find the winner.
The panel of judges includes veteran faces in the Asian entertainment industry, including Vietnamese singer Dan Truong. In addition, the "hot seat" also includes the participation of Su You Peng, Cheung Leung Ying, Yu Chang Jing, Jimmy Lin and Gu Ju Ji.
