Design and display
Compared to the Honor 200 version launched last year, the overall appearance of the Honor 400 has become more square and sturdy with flat bevels. However, the device is still evenly curved at the four corners to help bring a comfortable user experience.
The downside is that the entire frame and back of the device are made of plastic. Meanwhile, many competitors in the same segment have been equipped with glass backs and metal frames, giving a more premium feel.
In return, the plastic material helps to significantly reduce the weight of the device to 184g with a thickness of 7.3mm, giving a comfortable grip even when using the device with one hand for a long time. Both the back and the frame have a matte design, helping to limit fingerprints and dust during daily use.
The device feels sturdy, with no creaking even when pressing or pressing hard on the back or frame. The Honor 400 also has a 5-star drop protection certification from the Swiss SGS organization, ensuring good impact resistance. The device also has an IP66 water and dust resistance standard, allowing users to use it with peace of mind in many different environmental conditions.
The screen of the device is 6.55 inches in size, using an AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2,736 x 1,264 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The display quality of this screen is also relatively good, with vibrant colors and wide viewing angles. The plus point is that the screen bezels on all four sides are evenly thin, providing a good visual experience when used.
The maximum brightness of this screen can reach 5,000 nits, allowing users to easily use it outdoors in bright sunlight. Meanwhile, the minimum brightness can be reduced to 1.5 nits, helping to reduce eye strain and pain when viewing the screen at night.
The device is also equipped with a fingerprint sensor under the screen, for fast and accurate recognition. However, the sensor's relatively low position makes daily use not really convenient.
Camera and AI features
Honor 400 is equipped with a dual camera system with a 200MP main lens supporting OIS optical image stabilization and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens. Testing portrait photography in backlit conditions, the camera still provides good balance. The background is not overexposed, while the subject and face are still naturally reproduced. The details on the face, skin color and hair are all processed harmoniously, without being blurred when the background is blurred.
The limitations of this camera system lie in the ultra-wide-angle lens. In well-lit conditions, the level of detail and color is still well reproduced. However, when taking pictures in low-light conditions, the image detail is reduced and the color is also paler.
In addition, the device also has a built-in AI toolkit to support image editing. Users can easily edit photos with tools such as AI Object Removal 2.0 to remove excess details, AI Background Separation and AI Image Enlargement to change the background and expand the frame naturally.

In actual experience with some popular games such as PUBG Mobile and Lien Quan Mobile, the device can respond stably with 60fps at high graphics settings. Meanwhile, with games with more complex graphics such as Genshin Impact, the device can also meet the need for stable experience at medium graphics settings.
The device is equipped with a 6,000mAh Silicon-carbon battery, supporting 80W fast charging. Honor says that this battery can ensure 1,200 charge-discharge cycles, equivalent to about 4 years of use. With normal tasks such as calling, browsing the web, using social networks and playing games, the device can easily meet the needs of 1-2 days of use.
Honor 400 is installed with MagicOS 9 platform, based on Android operating system version 15. The interface of the device has a minimalist design, easy to use, the effects and animations are well optimized.
