Long Thuan Ward Party Committee: Expectations of people and officials after the merger

(ABO) On June 30, the online conference announced the resolutions and decisions of the Central and local governments on merging administrative units, establishing Party organizations, appointing Party committees, People's Councils, People's Committees, Fatherland Fronts of provinces, communes and wards in Dong Thap province (on the basis of merging Tien Giang province and Dong Thap province).

On the same afternoon, Long Thuan Ward Party Committee held a Conference to announce decisions and appoint the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Inspection Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Long Thuan Ward, Dong Thap Province.

At the conference, delegates heard the announcement of the Tien Giang Provincial Party Committee's decision on the establishment of the Long Thuan Ward Party Committee. The Long Thuan Ward Party Committee consists of 32 affiliated Party organizations and 993 Party members. This decision takes effect from July 1, 2025.

At the conference, comrade Le Thi Dau, Party Secretary, Chairman of Long Thuan Ward People's Council, spoke to encourage all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in the spirit of solidarity and determination to strive to excellently complete all assigned tasks.

As a young cadre, Ms. Le Ngoc Chau, an expert from the Department of Economic - Infrastructure and Urban Affairs, shared: “As a young cadre, I find the merger of these two levels of government very necessary to streamline the apparatus, in order to better serve the people. Although I am worried about the changes in organization and personnel, I feel very hopeful, because this is an opportunity for me to practice and demonstrate my capacity as well as adapt to the new working environment. As a young cadre, I need to be proactive, innovate my thinking, and constantly study to meet the requirements in this transitional period.”

As a typical local resident, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa said: “The two-level government will start to be implemented from July 1, 2025. As a citizen, I am very excited. Because this is the first time in history that the government has been innovated. I believe that the new government will be able to fulfill its duties and responsibilities, will take care of the people, be close to the people, understand the people and take care of the people's rights and lives. I am very confident in that.”
