Immediately after people reported being "lured" to go to some non-clinic locations near Hai Chau Regional Medical Center, on the morning of July 24, Deputy Director of the Da Nang City Department of Health Mai Van Muoi signed urgent document No. 758/SYT-NVY on strengthening inspection, management, timely detection, reporting, and handling of "brokers" in medical examination and treatment.
According to the Department of Health of Da Nang City, "Medical brokers" are individuals (who may be inside or outside medical facilities) who act as intermediaries, entice, and lead patients to medical examination and treatment at medical facilities according to agreements or for personal gain.
Not only does it affect security and order in hospital premises, it also affects people's rights, service quality and trust in the health sector.
To strengthen the management of medical examination and treatment, ensure a civilized and transparent medical examination and treatment environment, and prevent negative situations that affect the reputation of the health sector, the Department of Health of Da Nang City requires units to seriously review, evaluate, and report on the current situation of whether or not there are "brokers" in medical examination and treatment, and patient brokers at the unit and the area surrounding the unit.
The report must clearly state the current situations at the unit, the form of collusion between external parties or unit employees with external parties (if any), and handling measures.
Review and evaluate existing problems and limit potential risks of "brokers" in medical examination and treatment at the unit and surrounding areas. Strengthen the implementation of internal management and supervision solutions, arrange personnel to monitor and follow through the security camera system;
Direct and thoroughly educate cadres, civil servants, employees, and security forces to increase vigilance and monitoring; promptly detect "broker" acts of medical examination and treatment inside and outside the unit, report, handle, provide information, coordinate with the police and relevant agencies and units to handle negative acts (if any).
The Da Nang City Department of Health requires medical facilities and medical examination and treatment facilities to increase propaganda and dissemination to all officials, employees, patients, and patients' relatives about violations related to hospital "brokers", medical examination and treatment "brokers", and current legal regulations, thereby raising awareness and proper behavior in the process of providing medical services.
At the same time, send a report to the Da Nang City Department of Health before 2:00 p.m. on July 30.
Previously, as reported by Nhan Dan Newspaper, on July 23, a nearly 6-minute clip shared on social media recorded the story of a young girl reporting that she was "lured" to have a health check at a private clinic near Hai Chau Regional Medical Center, with an unusually high fee. Immediately after that, Hai Chau Regional Medical Center issued a written response to the citizen's reflection and affirmed that it is not affiliated with any private clinic and will take strict action if any individual is found to be complicit in profiteering.
