Reporting at the Congress, Comrade Nguyen Khac Lich, Director of the Department of Information Technology, said that in the past term, implementing the political tasks assigned by superiors and the direction of the Minister, the Department has focused on researching and implementing urgent, important and major tasks of the industry: Focusing on perfecting the Law on Digital Technology Industry to create a legal corridor, expanding development space; building and submitting to the Prime Minister for promulgation the Strategy for developing Vietnam's semiconductor industry to 2030 and vision to 2050.

The Vietnam semiconductor industry development strategy to 2030 and vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister has outlined a development path according to the formula C=SET+1, aiming to form a fundamental and essential industry that creates a solid foundation for digital economic development, contributing to building a modern, sustainable and self-reliant economy in the future, while opening up great opportunities for Vietnam to participate more deeply in the global semiconductor value chain.
These are new and difficult tasks that require sufficient resources for research, proposals, and quality assurance and progress in implementing the tasks. Despite many difficulties, under the leadership of the Party Committee, the Department of Information and Communications Technology has successfully completed its political tasks, directing professional work according to the socio-economic goals and targets, programs and work plans of the Party Committee, Party Committee and tasks assigned by superiors.

By the end of May 2025, the CNCNTT sector is estimated to achieve:
- Revenue reached 1,810 billion VND, up 17% over the same period in 2024, reaching 43% of the 2025 plan.
- Profit reached 128,350 billion VND, up 16.6% over the same period in 2024 and reaching 42.5% of the 2025 plan.
- State budget contribution in the field of CNCT reached 25,233 billion VND, an increase of 22.2% over the same period in 2024 and reaching 45% of the 2025 plan.
- Contribution to GDP reaches VND 383,154 billion, up 18% compared to 2024 and reaching 35% of the 2025 plan.
- Hardware and electronics export turnover reached 1,696 billion VND, up 25% over the same period in 2024 and reaching 41% of the 2025 plan.
- The number of digital technology enterprises by the end of April 2025 is 75,169 enterprises.
