On the morning of June 16, Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee announced the decision to merge Lai Chau Newspaper and Lai Chau Provincial Radio and Television Station and decisions on personnel work.

Accordingly, the two merged units will be named Lai Chau Newspaper under Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee from June 20, 2025.

After the merger, the Lai Chau Newspaper Editorial Board includes the Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Editors-in-Chief; has 8 specialized departments, including: Organization-Administration Department; Technical and Technology Department; Secretary-Editor Department; Electronics and Digital Content Department; Ethnic Language Radio-Television Department; Current Affairs- Politics Department; Economic-Social Department; Arts-Entertainment Department.

For Lai Chau Newspaper Printing Factory (a public service unit of the old Lai Chau Newspaper), the organization and operation will be maintained for now. After the merger, Lai Chau Newspaper will develop a roadmap to dissolve the Printing Factory according to regulations.

Announce and hand over the decision of the Standing Committee of Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee to appoint comrade Nguyen Viet Manh, former Editor-in-Chief of Lai Chau Newspaper, to hold the position of Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Lai Chau Newspaper after the merger, for a term of 5 years from September 1, 2021 and to assign the position of Acting Editor-in-Chief from June 20, 2025 until the position of Editor-in-Chief of Lai Chau Newspaper is completed.

In order for the merged Lai Chau Newspaper to operate smoothly and effectively, better meet the requirements of information and communication in the digital age and develop professional journalism; the Standing Committee of Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee requested the collective leadership of Lai Chau Newspaper to continue to closely follow the province's Project, promptly coordinate with relevant agencies to receive and manage assets, facilities, equipment, records and related documents of Lai Chau Newspaper and Radio-Television Station according to regulations.

Urgently arrange and stabilize the internal apparatus; develop internal rules and regulations, immediately organize and operate the new apparatus according to assigned functions and tasks, ensuring smooth and effective operation.
