On July 8, a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department said that at 8:00 a.m. on July 7, the Cho Quan Ward Police (formerly District 5) received a report from Mr. Nguyen Van Chinh (46 years old, residing in Binh Hung Ward) about the loss of a handbag containing a laptop and some personal documents, which he left behind when withdrawing money at an ATM on An Duong Vuong Street, Cho Quan Ward on June 29.
The ward police organized an investigation and checked the cameras in the area where the incident occurred. As a result, the unit discovered and verified information that a young man had taken Mr. Chinh's handbag when he went to withdraw money at the above ATM.
After contacting and this young man voluntarily surrendered his handbag, property and documents, Cho Quan Ward Police also returned the property to Mr. Chinh.

Previously, at 10:00 a.m. on July 6, the unit received a report from Mr. Palvinder Singh Talwar (28 years old, Indian nationality) about leaving his phone in a taxi while traveling from Bui Vien Street, Ben Thanh Ward to a hotel on Tran Binh Trong Street (Cho Quan Ward) at around 2:30 a.m. the same day.
Cho Quan Ward police quickly extracted the camera, contacted the taxi driver and returned the phone to the Indian tourist shortly after.
Cho Quan Ward (old District 5) was formed on the basis of merging administrative units of wards 1, 2, 4 of District 5 with an area of 1.28km2 and a population of 63,545 people.
