* Ms. VO THI TUYET HA - Deputy General Director of Truong Sinh International Science Development Company Limited (Truong Sinh Group, Pleiku ward):

Expecting a creative government that always accompanies businesses

The merger of Gia Lai and Binh Dinh provinces into Gia Lai (new) province will create a continuous economic zone from the highlands to the coast, forming a chain linking raw materials - production - consumption - export, helping businesses develop more comprehensively, especially in highly integrated industries such as: high-tech agriculture, pharmaceuticals, food processing, logistics and tourism...

In addition, businesses also benefit from the most connected infrastructure system, especially in logistics, when national highways, seaports and warehouses are invested in more synchronously, helping to reduce transportation and storage costs and increase competitiveness.

Along with that, the consumer market is expanded, human resources are more abundant, the distribution network can develop from the sea to the highlands, helping local enterprises reach further.

What the business community expects most after the merger of the two provinces is a creative government with a vision for regional development and always accompanying businesses. At the same time, administrative reform will be stronger, promoting modernization in handling administrative procedures.

Incentive policies need to ensure inheritance and development, avoiding omission or reduction of current support programs for enterprises, especially in the fields of agricultural production, processing and medicinal materials - which are strengths of Gia Lai province (old).

Infrastructure development needs to be balanced, not only focusing on coastal areas but also investing appropriately in the Central Highlands region - which is playing the role of a "strategic raw material area" and has great growth potential if exploited in the right direction.

* Mr. TRAN HUU HOANG - Director of Headway Quy Nhon Company Limited (Quy Nhon ward):

Facilitate the development of logistics industry

laylay4-removebg-preview.png

Gia Lai province (old) has strengths in raw materials, medicinal herbs, and agricultural and forestry products for export, while Binh Dinh (old) has strengths in Quy Nhon international seaport, factories processing export goods such as wood chips, granite, outdoor wooden furniture, etc.

Therefore, the merger of the two provinces not only expands the administrative boundaries but also increases the scale, expands the market space, integrates the strengths of the two provinces, creating a new Gia Lai province to develop rapidly, on par with other provinces and regions across the country.

The sum of these advantages will greatly facilitate the business community in general and logistics enterprises in particular in integrating and exploiting the strengths of the resources of the two provinces, creating strengths in import and export, especially significantly reducing logistics costs, creating efficiency in added value for enterprises.

This is one of the prerequisites to attract foreign investors because the logistics service industry plays a very important role and is a link in the supply chain for all business and consumer activities. Based on the advantage of available resources, I hope the Gia Lai (new) provincial government will create favorable conditions for the development of the logistics service industry.

* Mr. LUU QUOC THANH - General Director of Quicornac Company Limited (Tra Da Industrial Park, Pleiku Ward):

Ensuring stability, helping businesses confidently expand investment

lay3-removebg-preview.png

As a business operating in the field of purchasing and processing passion fruit for export, Quicornac is very interested in merging the two provinces. I see this as a great opportunity to create a new, larger and more synchronous development space for both businesses and people.

What businesses expect most is that the new government needs to ensure stability and consistency in policy mechanisms, especially procedures related to production investment, taxes, customs and farmer support.

The clearer, more transparent and convenient the procedures are, the more businesses will be able to maintain continuous operations and confidently expand their investments. Businesses hope that the new provincial government will have a clear strategic direction for the agricultural sector, in which passion fruit is the main crop of tens of thousands of farming households in the Central Highlands region.

However, along with the opportunities, there are still many difficulties, especially in the transition period. In particular, differences in administrative procedures, investment incentives or taxes can create "lags" that, if not synchronized quickly, will cause difficulties for businesses.

On the other hand, if development resources, public investment or support policies are concentrated in the new administrative center, it may increase the development gap between the inner-provincial regions after the merger. Enterprises wish to have regular dialogue with the government to remove difficulties and promptly respond to problems arising during the transition process.

* Mr. NGO QUOC VU - Director of Quy Nhon Container Joint Stock Company (Viconship Quy Nhon, Quy Nhon ward):

Invest heavily in transport and logistics infrastructure to expand supply chains

Gia Lai province currently has sufficient infrastructure as well as a large international seaport and airport; at the same time, there is a rich source of goods in large quantities. Hopefully, the new government will be a bridge, supporting businesses to shift their import and export of goods through Quy Nhon Port instead of ports in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, in order to boost the economic growth of the province.

Enterprises also hope that the province will speed up the construction and upgrading of the transportation system to shorten the time, reduce transportation costs, and contribute to reducing product prices to improve the competitiveness of the province's key products.

In particular, linking trade development between key economic regions will indirectly contribute to improving infrastructure for economic and trade development; reallocating resources and production forces in accordance with the strengths of each locality.

Enterprises also hope that the province will increase dialogue, accompany businesses, and invest heavily in transport and logistics infrastructure to expand supply chains and connect regions more effectively.
