Implementing the policy of the Ministry of Public Security and the City's leaders, recently, Ho Chi Minh City Police has officially received and reorganized the activities of Ho Chi Minh City Professional Football Club, changing its name to Ho Chi Minh City Police Football Club.
This is not only an organizational decision, but also has great political - cultural - social significance, marking the return of a symbol that was once the pride of Ho Chi Minh City football fans.
On August 8, Ho Chi Minh City Police Club held a launching ceremony, introducing to fans the 2025-2026 season uniforms, introducing the core force and new coaching staff. Coach Le Huynh Duc also affirmed that he will work with the whole team to rebuild the team's competitive identity and aim to reach the top 5 of the V-League this season.
In the 90s of the 20th century, along with Saigon Port, Customs, Ho Chi Minh City Police Football Club were three big names with rich traditions in Vietnamese football. During its golden age, Ho Chi Minh City Police Football Club won many titles when competing in national football tournaments. Notable among them were the national championship in 1995, runner-up in the 1993-1994, 1996, 1999-2000 and 2001-2002 seasons.
Immediately after the transfer and renaming, the team's leadership promptly took the initiative in organizing and preparing; from perfecting the management apparatus, restructuring the coaching staff, to recruiting high-quality players, all aimed at the highest professional and technical goals.
In preparation for the new season, former player - Coach Le Huynh Duc was invited to lead the Ho Chi Minh City Police Club. In addition, on the coaching bench there are also veteran assistants such as: Coach Phung Thanh Phuong, Hoang Hung and Chau Chi Cuong, who previously led the Ho Chi Minh City Club.
Regarding the squad, the players with good skills from the previous Ho Chi Minh City Club have been retained. Notable players include goalkeeper Partrick Le Giang, midfielder Endrick, central defender Tran Hoang Phuc, midfielder Nguyen Thai Quoc Cuong, defender Vo Huy Toan... To strengthen the squad, experienced and potential players have also been recruited by the management board, including: striker Nguyen Tien Linh, midfielder Pham Duc Huy, midfielder Dang Van Lam...
Ho Chi Minh City Police Club focuses on building a methodical and cohesive playing style; at the same time, creating the best conditions for accommodation, training, medical care , physical recovery and other logistical factors. The team's main goal in the 2025-2026 season is to compete with effort and determination to achieve the highest results.
