More talented overseas Vietnamese join CAHN Club
On the afternoon of July 23, CAHN Club announced a new recruit for the new season, Vietnamese-Irish defender Brandon Ly. The player with mixed Vietnamese and Irish blood was born in 2005 and was trained at Burnley (the team that just won the runner-up position in the English First Division). Brandon Ly was trained to play multi-purpose. He can play as a defender or defensive midfielder.
Brandon Ly used to play for Burnley U.21 (2023 - 2025) and compete in youth tournaments within the English football system. At first, Brandon Ly was able to play regularly, but in the past 3 months, the Vietnamese-born player has had no chance to play.

Perhaps that is why, during his return to Vietnam to visit his homeland, when approached by several V-League teams (including CAHN Club), Brandon Ly agreed to change his career direction. The 20-year-old defender will play in the V-League for the first time. He is the youngest star currently playing for CAHN Club, alongside other promising "young shoots" such as Nguyen Dinh Bac and Pham Minh Phuc.
"With a background in English football, versatility in defense and a progressive spirit, Brandon Ly promises to be an important piece in the team's future journey," CAHN Club wrote on its personal page.
Before recruiting Brandon Ly, CAHN Club completed contracts with foreign player Rogerio Alves from Nam Dinh Club and goalkeeper Vu Tuyen Quang from Binh Duong Club. In the opposite direction, goalkeeper Do Sy Huy left CAHN Club to be relegated to the first division to play for PVF-CAND.
Quality overseas Vietnamese squad of CAHN Club
CAHN Club is currently a "fertile land" for overseas Vietnamese players, with Nguyen Filip and Cao Pendant Quang Vinh.
While Nguyen Filip has played for 8 years in the Czech Republic national championship (Fortuna Liga) and has played in the Europa League, Cao Pendant Quang Vinh has been with Sochaux Club for 6 years and was the captain of the French U.16 team. Both were high-class overseas Vietnamese when they joined CAHN Club, then went through the naturalization procedure to become Vietnamese citizens, playing for the national team.
This is the path Brandon Ly also wants to take. The 20-year-old player always hopes to one day wear the Vietnamese national team jersey and contribute to the success of the country's football in the international arena. In the context that Quang Vinh and Nguyen Filip were both naturalized after only 7-9 months playing for CAHN Club, it is possible to expect Brandon Ly to soon have Vietnamese nationality if the former Burnley defender has all the necessary documents and meets the requirements.
In addition to Brandon Ly, CAHN Club plans to reserve the remaining overseas Vietnamese spot for central defender Adou Minh. The player born in 1997 used to play in the French semi-professional league before returning to Ha Tinh last season. He immediately shone in defense when helping his team finish fifth in the V-League. Adou Minh was also included in the V-League 2024-2025 best squad. Adou Minh hopes to soon obtain citizenship to be considered for a call-up to the Vietnam national team.
In addition to Adou Minh, CAHN Club is also targeting central defender Pham Ly Duc, a player who played 22 matches for HAGL last season and just made his debut for the Vietnamese national team in the match against Malaysia.
