In his closing speech at the meeting, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Vo Van Minh expressed his hope that in the new city government apparatus, with the improved agencies and units, especially the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council and People's Committee, they will promote their capacity, qualities, and sense of responsibility to the highest level, and excellently fulfill their assigned tasks, worthy of the trust of the Party, the State, the People's Council delegates, and the trust of the city's people and voters.
According to comrade Vo Van Minh, from today, Ho Chi Minh City becomes an administrative- economic entity, with a new position on the map of major cities, the region and the world. Ho Chi Minh City carries great aspirations along with historical opportunities, optimizing potential, developing outstanding economy to soon become a multi-center, multi-industry, multi-functional megacity, with global competitiveness and realizing the process of building a civilized, modern, and humane Ho Chi Minh City.
“With high determination, the entire city's political system, especially the two-level local government apparatus, will operate smoothly, effectively, efficiently and effectively to better meet the requirements of serving the people and businesses,” emphasized comrade Vo Van Minh.
The Chairman of the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City informed that the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City is facing the requirement of strong innovation in both the organizational structure and the content and methods of operation, to meet the development requirements of a special urban area. He requested to urgently stabilize the organizational structure, ensuring smooth and effective operation of the city government in the new period. In particular, special attention should be paid to the reasonable arrangement and assignment of cadres, civil servants and public employees; and to soon stabilize the workplace and accommodation for civil servants and workers.
Along with that, fully and promptly implement resolutions on perfecting the organization of the People's Council, People's Committee, People's Council Committees, Office of the National Assembly Delegation - People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City, specialized agencies under the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; strengthen coordination between the agencies of the People's Council - People's Committee - National Assembly Delegation - Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and socio-political organizations; closely coordinate with the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City in promulgating operating regulations, clearly assigning responsibilities, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of public administration.
The Chairman of the HCMC People's Council proposed to review, propose to complete and supplement specific mechanisms and policies in accordance with the requirements of rapid and sustainable development and the role of the country's economic locomotive that the Central Government has entrusted. Review and adjust the resolutions issued in localities before the merger, ensuring that they are consistent with the new administrative organization, without overlapping policies, and without legal gaps.
Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Vo Van Minh emphasized that the responsibility of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council in the coming period is great but also very glorious.
