In Khac Khoan village, Phu Nghia commune and Dak O commune, many families have members with dengue fever who have to be hospitalized. Despite maintaining hygiene, there are still many mosquitoes and they are difficult to control. The characteristics here are that there are many forests, hot and humid climate, lots of rain; the ethnic minority community is large, living conditions are difficult, so the disease is always latent.
According to the Bu Gia Map Regional Medical Center, since the beginning of the year, 136 cases of dengue fever and 36 small outbreaks have been recorded. Compared to the same period in 2024, the number of cases has decreased but increased compared to the first 6 months of 2025. The cases are concentrated in Phu Nghia, Da Kia and Dak O communes.

Specialist Doctor I Mai Van Trieu, Director of Bu Gia Map Regional Medical Center said: The weather is complicated, with erratic rain and sunshine, so the risk of an outbreak remains high. The health sector always puts disease prevention and control first, while continuously propagating and advising people to raise awareness to protect their health.
The local health sector has increased the spraying of chemicals to kill mosquitoes, handled outbreaks as soon as they were detected, organized mobile communications, and instructed people to clear bushes and remove water containers. In addition, the health station coordinated with local organizations to kill mosquito larvae, and provided bilingual propaganda for easy access by people.
Although the number of cases has decreased compared to last year, the risk of dengue fever is still present, especially when the weather continues to be erratic. The health sector recommends: Controlling mosquitoes, destroying larvae and maintaining environmental hygiene are the "keys" to disease prevention. Each person needs to take the initiative to prevent the disease, this is the most effective measure to protect the health of themselves, their families and the community.
