Ferrari has never been afraid to experiment, but its boldness has not always been well received. The Roma, despite its attractive looks and “la dolce vita” philosophy, has received mixed reviews, particularly for its grille design, overly tactile interior layout, and un-Ferrari-esque driving experience. And that's why the Amalfi was born as a way for the Italian carmaker to redeem what was not perfect in Rome. Named after a famous coastal region of Italy, the 2026 Ferrari Amalfi takes on a completely new look: refined, sporty but not forced.
The Amalfi’s exterior is streamlined yet still aerodynamic. The controversial “shark” grille has been removed, replaced by a clean, sharp front. Slim LED headlights blend in with the body’s lines, creating a seamless feel from front to rear. Under the hood, the Amalfi is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.9L V8 engine, with a power output of 631 horsepower, 20 horsepower more than the Roma. The electronic control system has been upgraded, along with brake-by-wire electronic braking technology, which was previously only available on supercars like the 296 GTB. Thanks to that, the Amalfi is both powerful and provides a more precise and refined driving experience. But the biggest changes come from inside. Ferrari has ditched the all-touch control interface that was criticized on the Roma. The Amalfi steering wheel returns to familiar physical buttons, a move that will make many Ferrari enthusiasts sigh with relief.
The central entertainment screen has been changed to a horizontal layout, making it easier to operate and more modern. Every line in the cabin is minimalist, but still retains the Ferrari-style "luxury". Ferrari has confirmed that the Amalfi will replace the Roma, with an expected price of around $275,000 in Europe. Deliveries will begin in early 2026, and it promises to be one of the most sought-after GTs in the segment. The Amalfi isn’t trying to revolutionize. Instead, it’s a testament to listening, adjusting, and refining, rare things a supercar brand is willing to do. With the Amalfi, Ferrari shows that even legends need to learn to change, to stay on top.
And perhaps, when Ferrari knows how to correct its mistakes properly, they are even more worthy of the word "icon". Because a beautiful car is not only about its lines or power, but also about its humility in the development journey. The 2026 Ferrari Amalfi is understated, yet deep enough to be memorable. A new ballad in the frenetic world of supercars, gentle, refined, and still very Ferrari.
